    Prior to 1965, there was limited activity in marketing education in Australia at the university level. A handful of marketing units, mostly poorly attended, were offered at Universities which had an advertising and sales background, a growing economics context and a strong US influence. However, changes in the system of education and business demand in the 1970s and 1980s have resulted in hundreds of marketing-related units now being offered to thousands of students every year
