Verspreiding van wortellesie-aaltjes en Verticillium dahliae bij chrysant in de vollegrond door hergebruik van drainwater : literatuurstudie

Chrysanten worden in Nederland vrijwel altijd in de vollegrond geteeld. Volgens het Lozingenbesluit Wet Verontreiniging Oppervlaktewateren glastuinbouw (WVO) kan de waterkwaliteitsbeheerder grondtelers per 1 januari 1998 verplichten hun drainwater te recirculeren (Leunissen, 1996). Door drainwater te recirculeren kan lozing van meststoffen en bestrijdingsmiddelen naar het oppervlaktewater of de riolering worden beperkt. Drainwater is vaak besmet met plantenparasitaire organismen. Dit kan na hergebruik tot problemen leiden. Om dit tegen te gaan, is ontsmetting van drainwater noodzakelijk. Over drainwaterontsmetting ten aanzien van schimmels en aaltjes is al voldoende bekend. Verhitting van drainwater tot 95°C gedurende 30 seconden, tot 90°C gedurende 2 minuten of tot 85°C gedurende 3 minuten bestrijdt aaltjes (waaronder wortellesie-aaltjes), schimmels (waaronder sporen van Verticillium dahliae) en virussen effectief; voor een selectieve ontsmetting tegen aaltjes en schimmels is verhitting van 2 minuten bij 60°C voldoende. Voor het ontsmetten tegen aaltjes kan ook UV-straling gebruikt worden. Voor het (selectief) ontsmetten op schimmels kunnen ook UV-straling, ozonisatie, waterstofperoxide, ultrafiltratie of langzame zandfiltratie gebruikt worden (Amsing en Runia, 2000; Runia e.a., 1988; Runia, 1995; Runia en Amsing, 1999, 2000). Bij chrysant wordt het opgevangen drainwater meestal niet ontsmet hergebruikt. In de teelt van chrysant kunnen grote problemen optreden door aantasting van het gewas door wortellesie-aaltjes Pratylenchus penetrans, of door slaapziekte Verticillium dahliae. In hoeverre wortellesie-aaltjes en Verticillium bij teelten in de vollegrond in het drainwater terecht komen, is niet bekend. Inventarisatie van slakken in Alstroemeria

In de teelt van Alstroemeria veroorzaken slakken vraatschade aan de groeipunten van de jonge stengels. Om te inventariseren om welke slakkensoort het gaat, zijn door medewerkers van Praktijkonderzoek Plant & Omgeving op een achttal bedrijven slakken verzameld. Op alle bedrijven zijn exemplaren van de slakkensoort Deroceras panormitanum, de zuidelijke aardslak, gevonden. De mogelijke schuilplaatsen van de slakken in het teeltsysteem zijn beschreven. De slakken bevonden zich op vochtige plekken, vaak op het grondoppervlak onder een kluitje grond

Uitval bij Gypsophila : infectieproeven

In deze publicatie wordt onderzoek beschreven naar de oorzaak van uitval. Bij praktijkbedrijven is ziek plantmateriaal verzameld dat onderzocht werd. Het blijkt dat Phytophthora cryptogea de primaire veroorzaker van uitval is, maar Fusariumschimmels komen ook voor. Bedrijfshygiëne is belangrijk om verspreiding te voorkome

Bestrijding Spaanse aardslak (Lehmannia valentiana) in Cymbidium 2002-2003

After the identification of the slug species, experiments were done in the laboratory and greenhouses to assess the effects of pesticides. The reduction of flower damage (protection of the flower) and the number of killed slugs were observed. In this report greenhouse experiments are described. The slug pellets metaldehyde (trade name Caragoal) and iron-III-phosphate (trade name Ferramol) and the slug parasatic nematodes (trade name Nemaslug) are the most effective ones to control the slug Lehmannia valentiana. The adviced dosages of 25 kg/ha Ferramol and 7 kg/ha Caragoal offer good protection of the flowers. The slug pellets cause almost no killing. Nemaslug® inoculated on the pot offers successful protection of the flowers and decreases the number of living slugs in the pot. The combination of Nemaslug® and Caragoal offers the possibility of slug control. The pesticides methiocarb (trade name Mesurol 500 SC) and methomyl (trade name Akomyl 20 LS) used by a fogging system had no effect on the slugs

A detailed NMR study of the solution stereodynamics in tricarbonylrhenium(I) halide complexes of the non-racemic chiral ligand 2,6-bis[(4R,5R)-4,5-dimethyl-1,3-dioxolan-2-yl]pyridine (L¹) and the molecular structure of fac-[ReBr(CO)₃(L¹)]

1 Tricarbonylrhenium(I) halide complexes of the non-racemic chiral ligand 2,6-bis[(4R, 5R)-dimethyl-1,3-dioxan-2-yl]pyridine (L¹), namely fac-[ReX(CO)₃(L¹)] (X = Cl, Br or I), have been prepared. In these complexes the ligand is bound in a bidentate fashion, with the N atom of the pyridine ring and an O atom of one of the acetal rings co-ordinated to the octahedral metal centre. The bidentate mode is confirmed by the X-ray structure of fac-[ReBr(CO)₃(L¹)]. There are four possible diastereoisomers, depending on the configuration at the metal centre and at the acetal-carbon atom of the co-ordinated ring; the X-ray structure of fac-[ReBr(CO)₃(L¹)] shows that the SR diastereoisomer is present in the solid state. In solution, three of the four possible diastereoisomers are observed, namely SR, RR and RS; their relative populations are in the order SR > RR > SS. Above ambient temperature the complexes are stereochemically non-rigid. The fluxional kinetics have been measured by a combination of standard band shape analysis and selective inversion experiments. Two distinct processes are present: an acetal ring flip and exchange of the pendant and co-ordinated acetal rings. The latter process occurs via two independent mechanisms, namely tick-tock and rotation pathways. The activation energies for the stereodynamics are in the ranges 72 – 73 kJ mol⁻¹ (tick-tock), 77 – 78 kJ mol⁻¹ (acetal ring flip) and 83 – 90 kJ mol⁻¹ (rotation) at 298 K
