Organizational Justice for Managing Human Resources

To achieve a truly fair way of managing people in organizations and increase organizational competitiveness, designing procedures and structures of human resource management systems appropriately is not sufficient. What are needed in advance are top management's moral or ethical aspirations for justice and the establishment of justice climate based on such a moral concern. This argument is supported academically by the recent advancement of the research on organizational justice, especially the advancement of the understanding of justice motives from instrumental and social to moral perspectives, and the development of the macro-level justice climate construct.organizational justice, human resource management, moral concerns, justice climate

Honorable Mention Inspired by the culture of the Burkina Faso. Why do you believe African homeowners will be interested in building a home such as the one you have submitted today? In our design, as mentioned before, we focused in one main aspect: giving new perspectives around their existing ways of constructing. We believe to have got in contact with very main aspects of their construction that needed a change and many others that didn´t so, at least for now, we gave priority to the ones we think they should be changed/improved for a better quality of living, of their own very unique style of living Do you believe young African designers will create outstanding examples of modern African architecture if they were exposed to such concepts during their university curriculum? Us, as a modernized culture, find inspiration and ‘’help’’ from many other countries that gave a solution to a problem that we might have had. In this way, we could say someone else has taught us with its different approach or perspective to that same problem. If looking at it this way, it´s more about showing them how we would solve something that they haven’t already because of the lack of communication with other architects or media. So the need from others to teach abroad and give different ways of thinking about design in order to make a change should be the very next step. What did you find most interesting or challenging during the research and development of your prototype? The real challenge was to give a new meaning to the word ‘modern‘‘. We didn´t want to focus it only on form and newer materials but in new/different ways that we are not used to. We want to let them progress, giving them ‘touches‘‘ to their actual architecture, and not changing everything

Inexperienced versus experienced mothers\u27 and preschool teachers\u27 strategies for providing persuasive messages to young children

This chapter compares the message strategies of parents and preschool teachers for persuading young children and reveals the effect of parenting and teaching experience on strategies adopted. The authors asked 454 mothers and 181 preschool teachers to select one of two framed messages to enhance children’s self-regulation ability. The results showed that, compared with no difference in message selection between inexperienced mothers and inexperienced preschool teachers, the strategy of experienced teachers shifted to a more positively-framed approach, whereas that of experienced mothers shifted to a more negatively-framed approach. The contrasting results in message strategy that changed with the parenting/teaching experience support the self-regulatory theory, in which caregivers develop children’s self-regulation ability through regulatory focus messages. This has implications for the development of parenting and teaching styles
