Arbeitsmedizinisches Kolloquium

Die vorliegende Veroeffentlichung enthaelt die Eroeffnungsansprache des Kollegiums sowie den vollen Text der 8 Vortraege. Drei davon befassen sich mit der Aufklaerung arbeitsbedingter Gesundheitsgefahren durch epidemiologische Untersuchungen und drei mit Initiativen der Berufsgenossenschaften zur Gesundheitsfoerderung bzw. Krankheitsverhuetung. In einem weiteren Vortrag wird der Fall Fahlbusch mit seiner Dioxinproblematik dargestellt. Der letzte Vortrag diskutiert die Probleme bezueglich Umweltbelastung und Gesundheitsschutz am Arbeitsplatz bei der Asbestsanierung. Three of them discussed the detection of job-related health hazards by means of epidemiological studies; three further lectures reviewed the initiatives of the trade cooperative associations in the fields of health promotion and disease prevention. Another paper reviewed the Fahlbusch case and the dioxin problem. The final lecture discusses the problems of environmental pollution and industrial safety in the case of asbestos sanitation. Berufsgenossenschaftliche Aktivitaeten und Forschungsvorhaben zum Thema Wismut. Erkenntnisstand und Perspektiven Fachkolloquium

To mark the fifth anniversary of the Wismut special care unit (ZeBWis), the Central Federation of the German Berufsgenossenschaften held a specialist colloquium in Dresden on 9 and 10 December 1996 devoted to the following topic: 'The activities and research work of the Berufsgenossenschaften related to Wismut-current findings and future prospects'. The event was attended by representatives from the Berufsgenossenschaften, state agencies and from science. Some 14 presentations given by experts, as well as a panel discussion, tackled the subject of what has been done since 1991 by the Berufsgenossenschaften, science and both federal and state authorities to deal with the problem of the effects of uranium mining on the health of employees. By way of a progress report, information was presented on measures related to occupational medical care, rehabilitation and compensation, as well as scientific activities designed to compile and improve data on exposure, the early diagnosis of damage to health and on the relation between levels of exposure to ionizing radiation and hazardous substances and the resulting effect. This documentation contains the introductory and welcome speeches from the colloquium, as well as the presentations and discussions, rounded off by the panel discussion. The aim of the information available is to give all participants and all those interested in the subject the chance to gain a sound overview of the current state of the debate. (orig.)Aus Anlass des 5jaehrigen Bestehens der Zentralen Betreuungsstelle Wismut (ZeBWis) fuehrte der Hauptverband der gewerblichen Berufsgenossenschaften (HVBG) am 9. und 10. Dezember 1996 das Fochkolloquium mit dem Thema 'Berufsgenossenschaftliche Aktivitaeten und Forschungsvorhaben zum Thema Wismut - Erkenntnisstand und Perspektiven' durch, an dem Vertreter der Berufsgenossenschaften, der fuer den Arbeitsschutz und den Strahlenschutz zustaendigen staatlichen Stellen und der Wissenschaft teilnahmen. In 14 Fachvortraegen und einer Podiumsdiskussion wurde behandelt, was die Berufsgenossenschaften in Zusammenarbeit mit Wissenschaft sowie Bundes- und Laenderbehoerden seit 1991 getan haben, um das Problem der Auswirkungen des Uranerzbergbaus auf die Gesundheit der Beschaeftigten zu bearbeiten. Im Sinne einer Zwischenbilanz wurden Massnahmen zur arbeitsmedizinischen Betreuung, zur Rehabilitation und Kompensation beraten und die wissenschaftlichen Aktivitaeten zur Sicherung und Verbesserung der Datenlage ueber Expositionen, ueber Frueherkennung von Gesundheitsschaeden und ueber Dosis-Wirkungs-Beziehungen bei Strahlenbelastung vorgestellt. In der vorliegenden Dokumentation werden Einfuehrung und Grussworte sowie die Fachvotraege und Diskussionen wiedergegeben. Die Podiumsdiskussion rundet die Schrift ab. Sie gibt allen Beteiligten und allen Interessierten im Nachgang zu der Veranstaltung eine gute Uebersicht zum aktuellen Diskussionsstand. Grenzwerte fuer chemische Einwirkungen an Arbeitsplaetzen Symposium

The Institute for occupational safety of the Berufsgenossenschaften (BIA) has devised a new series of events, in the form of BIA symposia, which are designed to provide a forum for the exchange of opinion between experts, thus playing a part in the process of solving current problems. It is the fact that major new developments are expected in the near future as regards both limits of reference values for hazardous substances at the workplace, and in part also new protection concepts, that the symposium on 'Limits for the effects of chemicals at the workplace - scientific findings and new concepts' was organised. On the horizon are fundamental changes and revisions as far as regulations are concerned and the preparation of provisions and concepts in the set of rules governing the basis for the calculation of these values, the criteria on which they are based and their assessment, as well as the drawing up of new limits and new classifications for important groups of substances and the conceptional considerations necessarily associated with them. Reputable experts from the European Union, the Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs, scientific research institutions, industry and the Berufsgenossenschaften presented their viewpoints on the complex subject area and made proposals regarding possible approaches to be adopted. The presentations have been compiled in this report. Das Kolloquium hat sich vor allem mit der Frage befasst, ob die bisherigen Empfehlungen zur Minderung der Erwerbsfaehigkeit und die darauf beruhende Begutachtungs- und Entscheidungspraxis die gesetzlichen Vorgaben in vollem Umfang beruecksichtigt. Hierzu wurde eine kritische Bestandaufnahme aus den unterschiedlichen Perspektiven der Sozialpartner, der Gutachter, der Verwaltungen und Gerichte, der Anwaltschaft, der Arbeitsmarktforschung und der medizinischen wie der sozialrechtlichen Wissenschaft vorgenommen.
