Berufsgenossenschaftliche Aktivitaeten und Forschungsvorhaben zum Thema Wismut. Erkenntnisstand und Perspektiven Fachkolloquium

Abstract

To mark the fifth anniversary of the Wismut special care unit (ZeBWis), the Central Federation of the German Berufsgenossenschaften held a specialist colloquium in Dresden on 9 and 10 December 1996 devoted to the following topic: 'The activities and research work of the Berufsgenossenschaften related to Wismut-current findings and future prospects'. The event was attended by representatives from the Berufsgenossenschaften, state agencies and from science. Some 14 presentations given by experts, as well as a panel discussion, tackled the subject of what has been done since 1991 by the Berufsgenossenschaften, science and both federal and state authorities to deal with the problem of the effects of uranium mining on the health of employees. By way of a progress report, information was presented on measures related to occupational medical care, rehabilitation and compensation, as well as scientific activities designed to compile and improve data on exposure, the early diagnosis of damage to health and on the relation between levels of exposure to ionizing radiation and hazardous substances and the resulting effect. This documentation contains the introductory and welcome speeches from the colloquium, as well as the presentations and discussions, rounded off by the panel discussion. The aim of the information available is to give all participants and all those interested in the subject the chance to gain a sound overview of the current state of the debate. (orig.)Aus Anlass des 5jaehrigen Bestehens der Zentralen Betreuungsstelle Wismut (ZeBWis) fuehrte der Hauptverband der gewerblichen Berufsgenossenschaften (HVBG) am 9. und 10. Dezember 1996 das Fochkolloquium mit dem Thema 'Berufsgenossenschaftliche Aktivitaeten und Forschungsvorhaben zum Thema Wismut - Erkenntnisstand und Perspektiven' durch, an dem Vertreter der Berufsgenossenschaften, der fuer den Arbeitsschutz und den Strahlenschutz zustaendigen staatlichen Stellen und der Wissenschaft teilnahmen. In 14 Fachvortraegen und einer Podiumsdiskussion wurde behandelt, was die Berufsgenossenschaften in Zusammenarbeit mit Wissenschaft sowie Bundes- und Laenderbehoerden seit 1991 getan haben, um das Problem der Auswirkungen des Uranerzbergbaus auf die Gesundheit der Beschaeftigten zu bearbeiten. Im Sinne einer Zwischenbilanz wurden Massnahmen zur arbeitsmedizinischen Betreuung, zur Rehabilitation und Kompensation beraten und die wissenschaftlichen Aktivitaeten zur Sicherung und Verbesserung der Datenlage ueber Expositionen, ueber Frueherkennung von Gesundheitsschaeden und ueber Dosis-Wirkungs-Beziehungen bei Strahlenbelastung vorgestellt. In der vorliegenden Dokumentation werden Einfuehrung und Grussworte sowie die Fachvotraege und Diskussionen wiedergegeben. Die Podiumsdiskussion rundet die Schrift ab. Sie gibt allen Beteiligten und allen Interessierten im Nachgang zu der Veranstaltung eine gute Uebersicht zum aktuellen Diskussionsstand.
