Cyanopolyynes have been found in the interstellar medium, cold dust cloud Taurus Molecular Cloud-1, and the Titan’s atmosphere. Theoretical calculations are carried out to predict gas and aqueous phase acidities of a series of cyanopolyynes acids. Two levels of theory were used in this study, with the combination of density functional theory, and Møller–Plesset perturbation (MP2) theory, MP2 methods with two types of basis set, namely, Pople’s 6–311++g (d, p) basis set and Dunning’s aug-cc-pVTZ basis set. The calculations of these molecules reveal that pKa values varying from 12.25 to 17.25 and indicate that the acidity of these molecules in aqueous phase increases whereas the acidity in gas phase decreases with an increasing chain length of these acids

In addition to Ibn Ibn al-Fāriż's poem called " al-Tā'iyyah al-Qubrā " or "Nazm al-sulouk" was first explained in the turkish language by Muhammad Ma'rūf al-Trābzonī in his book named "Sharh al-Qasīdah al-Tā'iyyah". This poem has depicted Ibn al-Fāriż's spiritual journey and his moral ascension. At the first place, this study is mainly about to make a conversion on the commentary of the poem" al-Tā'iyyah al-Qubrā" into the latin letters, then to analyze the commentary and to display its characteristics that consist of: introduction, results and four major parts. This study begins with an introduction that demonstrates in it Ibn al-Fāriż's high value in the Turkish commentaries. Then the study's goals, importance and techniques has also been clarified. the first part of the study; gives some information about Ibn al-Fāriż's life and divan and talks about the major subject of the study which is the poem "al-Tā'iyyah al-Qubrā"; it's commentaries and translations in Arabic, Parsee, and Turkish. The second part of the study has collected the whole information in different sources and references about the writer of the commentary, it also wrote his biography corresponding with the information given. Thereafter the commentary has been studied and analyzed to display its content and the technique through different subtitles as sources and references has also been studied while they have relied on them in explaining and narrating. The last part in the study has described the only copy. Final chapter of our work comprises of the actual text of the said commentary converted from Arabic script to the Latin script. The copy of the text present in Süleymaniye Library, Nuruosmaniye section with reference no (4007/1) has been adopted as base for reading

Cooling of buildings is an essential target for engineers and builders in the hot arid climate of Egypt. New cooling system was integrated into a single room built in Assiut University (El-Gorib site) in Assiut, Egypt. A passive cooling technique was integrated inside a short wind tower made from expanded paper (wet pad) 0.1 m thick. A water tube was installed on the top of the expanded paper with small nozzles. The results show that outlet air temperature from the wind tower is 27.3°C. The calculated predicted mean vote (PMV) is within the recommended range (−0.5 < PMV < +0.5). This indicates that occupants remain satisfied with indoor thermal environment after using the passive cooling system and the difference is nearly 6–7 K between outdoor and indoor. The system achieves the acceptable airflow rate with an average of 450 ppm for CO2 concentration during daytime. The relative humidity did not exceed 57% most of the time. The maximum airspeed inside the solar chimney was 3.5 m/s under the effect of a high solar radiation of 890 W/m2. The findings show that solar chimney with passive cooling tower design (SCPC) system achieves comfortable thermal conditions with a significant improvement in building energy conservation

The Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) is a serious viral life-threatening and mortal respiratory illness caused by SARS-CoV. SARS-CoV plays an essential role in the viral replication cycle. It is considered a potential target for SARS inhibitor development. A series of twenty eight bioactive imidazole compounds as possible SARS-CoV inhibitors were designed and evaluated using computational calculations. Possible binding interaction modes were proposed by molecular docking studies. Among all studied compounds, compounds 5, 15 and 22 showed most potent inhibitory activity against SARS-CoV. These results indicated that these inhibitors could be potentially developed into anti-SARS drugs

The fabrication and electrochemical evaluation of two PVC membrane-based Ion-Selective electrodes responsive for ramipril drug have been proposed. The sensitive membranes were prepared using ramipril-phosphomolibdate and ramipril-tetraphenylborate ion-pair complexes as electroactive sensing materials in plasticized PVC support. The electrodes based on these materials provide near-Nernestian response (sensitivity of 53 ± 0.5–54 ± 0.5 mV/concentration decade) covering the concentration range of 1.0 × 10−2–1.0 × 10−5 mol L−1 with a detection limit of 3.0 × 10−6–4.0 × 10−6 mol L−1. The suggested electrodes have been successfully used in the determination of ramipril drug in some pharmaceutical formulations using direct potentiometry with average recovery of >96% and mean standard deviation of <3% (n = 5)
