    Correlation between Strategy of Tahfiz Learning Styles and Students Performance in Al-Qur’an Memorization (Hifz)

    The aim of this study is to review strategies of tahfiz learning styles in Tahfiz Institutions in Malaysia. The study involved a total of 212 students who studied in Diploma of Tahfiz Darul Qur’an, JAKIM. The questionnaire instruments were developed by researcher and its content has been validated by panel of experts. Cronbach’s alpha reliability level of value for all parts of the questionnaire was high (> 0. 9). Research data was analyzed descriptively and inferential by using the mean, standard deviation, percentage, T-test and Pearson correlation. The findings show that the strategies of tahfiz al-Qur’an learning styles were at moderately high level. Inferential data analysis found significant differences between ‘gender’ and ‘location of tahfiz institutions’ and strategies of students learning styles. The findings also show strong significant relationship between strategies of tahfiz learning styles and students performance in memorization (hafazan). Research implications conclude that elements of strategy in tahfiz learning styles should be given special attention by all parties when drafting a curriculum for tahfiz teaching and learning so that the excellence in quality of the students can be achieved.     Pedagogical Content Knowledge among the Teachers of Special Classes of Reading and Memorizing the Qur’an (KKQ) in Kuala Lumpur

    This study aims to examine the level of pedagogical content knowledge among the teachers of Special Classes of Reading and Memorizing the Qur’an (KKQ) in teaching the Quranic Tajweed in the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur. The implementation of this study involves two groups of respondents, i. e. the group of teachers and the students of KKQ. Data from both groups of respondents were collected using two sets of questionnaires developed by the researchers. Content validity of the questionnaires was conducted by setting up an expert reference panel. Cronbach’s alpha reliability values for all parts of the questionnaire were high (> 0. 9). Quantitative data were analyzed by descriptive and inferential using IBM SPSS V20 to obtain the frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, differences and correlations. Overall, KKQ teachers found to have high level of pedagogical content knowledge in the Quranic Tajweed lessons. The difference analysis showed that significant difference exist on the level of pedagogical content knowledge of KKQ teachers in demographic aspect based on their university background and teaching experience. Meanwhile, correlation analysis found that there was a significant relationship between teachers’ pedagogical content knowledge and the student achievement in the Quranic Tajweed lessons of KKQ. The positive findings on the level of knowledge of the contents should be maintained or increased from time to time, as well as identified differences factors should be handled systematically, whereas those aspects that are found to have a relationship with the educational achievements of recitation of the Qur'an must be improved.     Latar belakang guru tahfiz dan amalan kaedah pengajaran tahfiz al-Quran di Malaysia

    The aim of this study is to explore the teaching method of Quran memorization (tahfiz) at Darul Quran JAKIM and State Maahad Tahfiz Quran (MTQN). This study involved 103 teachers in 11 institutions of tahfiz and maahad who are teaching the JAKIM Diploma programme at the Tahfiz Darul Quran. The questionnaires were developed by the researcher and the contents were validated by an expert panel. The reliability score of alpha Cronbach for all parts of the questionnaires was found to be high (> 0.9). The quantitative data of the questionnaires were analyzed using the statistical descriptive method such as frequency, percentage, mean and standard deviations. They were analyzed using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS). This study found that the level of practices effectiveness for teaching methods in tahfiz was moderately high. The result of the inferential studies showed that there was no significant difference between the methods of tahfiz teaching and the teachers’ background (i.e. the gender, types of maahad tahfiz, professional qualification and teachers’ experiences). This result also described that the weak teaching process was not influenced by the teachers’ backgrounds. The implications of this study indicated that the practices of Quran tahfiz teaching should be in line with the development of the educational technology. Staff training programs should be developed to ensure that the teachers have the opportunity to enhance their knowledge and skills in teaching and learning so that the tahfiz education will always be updated with the current educational mainstream

    Pendidikan akhlak menurut kaedah Al-Ghazali

    Kajian ini bertujuan untuk melihat sejauh mana kaedah yang disaran oleh Al-Ghazali dalam mendidik akhlak seseorang individu itu dipraktikkan oleh pelajar. Selain itu, kajian ini juga ingin melihat perbezaan antara jantina terhadap kaedah pendidikan akhlak tersebut. Kajian ini merupakan kajian rintis yang telah dijalankan di dua buah Sekolah Menengah Agama sekitar daerah Batang Padang, Perak. Sampel kajian terdiri daripada 25 orang pelajar lelaki dan 25 orang pelajar perempuan. Dapatan kajian diperoleh menggunakan kaedah tinjauan (survey) yang menggunakan soal selidik sebagai instrumen. Sebanyak 50 item telah diuji dan dianalisis dengan menggunakan statistik deskriptif. Hasil dapatan kajian menunjukkan 32 item berada pada tahap tinggi dengan min antara (3.01-5.00) manakala 18 item lagi berada pada tahap sederhana tinggi (min=2.01-3.00) Dapatan keseluruhan menunjukkan bahawa semua kaedah berada pada tahap yang tinggi (min=4.14, sp.=0.76). Secara keseluruhan, tidak terdapat perbezaan yang signifikan antara skor min responden lelaki dan perempuan terhadap kaedah pendidikan akhlak

    Kajian ini bertujuan untuk mengenal pasti amalan pengajaran guru Pendidikan Islam dalam pengajaran dan pembelajaran bidang tilawah al-Quran kepada murid-murid Pendidikan Khas bermasalah pendengaran (Program Pendidikan Khas Integrasi) sekolah rendah dari aspek amalan pengajaran guru termasuk penggunaan kurikulum kebangsaan. Seramai dua orang guru dari dua buah Sekolah Kebangsaan yang menawarkan Program Pendidikan Khas Integrasi (masalah pendengaran) telah dipilih sebagai peserta kajian ini. Bagi memperolehi data, pengkaji menggunakan pendekatan kajian kualitatif.Pengkaji menggunakan tiga kaedah bagi memperolehi data, antara kaedah yang digunakan ialah kaedah temu bual, pemerhatian dan analisis data. Kesahan data dilakukan pengesahan pakar, bertaklimat dan pengesahan peserta kajian. Dapatan menunjukkan peserta kajian merancang pengajaran menggunakan sukatan pelajaran Pendidikan Islam Kebangsaan, akan tetapi terdapat pengubahsuian dalam pengolahan isi pengajaran masing-masing. Selain itu juga pengkaji mendapati bahawa peserta kajian menghadapi masalah berkaitan dengan keperluan murid bermasalah pendengaran dari sudut pedagogi, kemahiran dan komunikasi. Secara keseluruhannya peserta kajian menunjukkan kesungguhan dan minat yang mendalam untuk mendidik murid-murid bermasalah pendengaran. Diharap kajian ini dapat menjadi panduan kepada guru-guru Pendidikan Islam bagi meningkatkan prestasi pengajaran dan pembelajaran kepada murid bermasalah pendengaran dalam bidang tilawah al-Quran khususnya

    Kajian ini bertujuan untuk mengenal pasti amalan pembelajaran Pendidikan Akhlak pelajar di Sekolah Agama di negeri Perak berasaskan teori pembelajaran Akhlak oleh al-Ghazali. Kajian ini menggunakan reka bentuk kuantitatif yang diperolehi melalui tinjauan dengan menggunakan set borang soal selidik sebagai instrumen. 310 orang pelajar tingkatan empat yang telah mengambil mata pelajaran Pendidikan Islam telah dipilih untuk memberi respon terhadap soal selidik dalam kajian ini. Data yang diperoleh telah dianalisis dengan menggunakan Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS). Hasil kajian secara keseluruhannya mendapati bahawa kaedah pembelajaran pendidikan Akhlak pelajar di SMKA Perak berada pada tahap yang tinggi. Tinjauan terhadap kaedah pengajaran akhlak menunjukkan kaedah yang sering digunakan dalam pembelajaran akhlak oleh pelajar ialah pemerhatian, riyadhah, mujahadah, muhasabah. Manakala kaedah pergaulan masih kurang diamalkan oleh majoriti pelajar. Guru-guru pendidikan Islam seharusnya menguasai kemahiran pengajaran dan pembelajaran akhlak yang berkesan bagi meningkatkan tahap penghayatan akhlak pelajar

    Strategi pengajaran Tafsir al-Quran dalam kalangan guru Pendidikan Islam

    Kajian ini bertujuan untuk mengenal pasti strategi pengajaran Tafsir al-Quran dalam kalangan guru pendidikan Islam. Rekabentuk kajian adalah kajian kuantitatif dengan menggunakan kaedah tinjauan dalam mengumpul data yang melibatkan 254 orang pelajar tingkatan empat dan 34 orang guru Pendidikan Islam. Kajian ini melibatkan 5 buah Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Agama (SMKA) di Negeri Sabah. Data kajian telah dianalisis secara deskriptif menggunakan min, sisihan piawai dan peratus. Dapatan kajian mencatatkan tahap interpretasi amalan pengajaran tafsir dari aspek persediaan pengajaran, perkembangan pengajaran dan penutup pengajaran berada pada tahap sederhana tinggi. Dapatan kajian ini diharap dapat membantu pihak Kementerian Pelajaran Malaysia, sekolah, institusi-institusi pendidikan yang lain dalam menyusun dan merangka program yang bersesuaian dengan keperluan guru al-Quran serta dapat membantu guru dalam merancang pengajaran tafsir al-Quran yang lebih berkesan bagi meningkatkan penghayatan al-Quran dalam kalangan pelajar

    Empowering Professional Competence and Moral Responsibility for Corporate Sustainability: Insights from Industry and University Strategic Alliance

    The stability of corporate sector is definitely related to the prominent firms’ conditions, where both inner and outer factor played a significant role in enhancing the value proportion in sustaining the existence. Although many was conducted in the outer part in the corporate sector, however, less attention was apparently being given to the internal point where professional and moral basis is needed for further exploration in giving insights into corporate sustainability. This chapter attempts to examine the insightful value of professional competence and moral responsibility to give the significant point in disseminating the enhancement of corporate sustainability. The literature review was carefully conducted from the referred articles: journals, books and conference proceedings on the related topic. The finding reveals that the insightful value of professional competence and moral responsibility in advancing the corporate sustainability could be achieved in particular point through industry and university alliance. The basis of this alliance of both could give insights into incorporating the particular model of strategic partnership along with the corporate social responsibility. Engaged through the higher education (HE) together with firm involvement, this aim refers to advance in achieving the quality balance on corporate social responsibility. As such, this study is expected to contribute in advancing the research development agenda on enhancing strategic partnership assigned between professional competences together with moral responsibility

    Persepsi pelajar terhadap kaedah pembelajaran tahfiz al-Quran di Malaysia

    Kajian ini bertujuan untuk meninjau persepsi kaedah amalan pembelajaran tahfiz di Darul Quran JAKIM dan Maahad Tahfiz al-Quran negeri (MTQN) di Malaysia. Kajian ini melibatkan 212 pelajar semester 6 di 11 institusi dan maahad yang mengikuti Diploma Tahfiz Darul Quran JAKIM. Instrumen soal selidik telah dibina sendiri oleh penyelidik dan disahkan kandungannya oleh panel rujukan pakar. Tahap nilai kebolehpercayaan alpha Cronbach bagi semua bahagian dalam soal selidik adalah tinggi iaitu 0.97. Kajian ini juga menggunakan kaedah pemerhatian melalui lima sampel pemerhatian kelas pelajar yang diambil secara rawak. Data kuantitatif daripada soal selidik dianalisis secara deskriptif menggunakan Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) untuk mendapatkan kekerapan, peratus, min dan sisihan piawai. Dapatan kajian menunjukkan bahawa kaedah, pembelajaran tahfiz, iaitu elemen tasmi’, takrar berada pada tahap tinggi. Elemen tasmi talaqqi dan musyafahah berada pada tahap sederhana tinggi dan eleman kefahaman dan penulisan berada pada tahap sederhana rendah. Dapatan kajian kualitatif terhadap pemerhatian juga menyokong dapatan kajian kuantitatif ini. Implikasinya, kaedah talaqqi dan musyafahah, tasmi’, takrar, merupakan kaedah paling utama yang seharusnya diberi perhatian dan kaedah kefahaman dan penulisan juga tidak boleh diabaikan

    Analysis of Online Learning Needs of Islamic Study Materials in The North Zone of Malaysia Polytechnics

    This study was conducted with the purpose to identify the level of readiness and needs of the students towards the development of a mobile portal which applied problem-based learning for the Islamic Studies course in polytechnics. This study had implemented the method of survey and quantitative in nature. The number of 228 students who were enrolling the Islamic Studies course from five Malaysia polytechnics in the North Zone were selected randomly as sample. A set of questionnaires was used as research instrument. The data obtained were analysed descriptively using frequency, percentage and mean score in order to identify the level of readiness and needs of the students. The study found that students’ readiness level is very good, with 100% of the respondents owned mobile devices and 93.5% out of total respondents had experience in using the mobile devices for more than 3 years. The level of skill in using the mobile device also was good as all items had reached high level of mean score (3.82 – 4.14). Another criteria of readiness obtained from the data was students’ readiness towards problem-based learning strategy which all items had reached high level of mean score (3.94 – 4.20). Overall, the finding of this research showed that the level of students’ needs was high towards the development of this module as an effort to create an alternative pathway for the pedagogy of Islamic Studies
