Qualitätsmanagement und Social Media

Basierend auf den technischen Entwicklungen des Internets in den letzten Jahren nimmt die Nutzung sowohl im privaten als auch im geschäftlichen Bereich ständig zu. Durch seine zunehmend bessere Unterstützung der Prozessabläufe in Organisationen steigt die Nachfrage nach Lösungen für verschiedene Querschnittsfunktionen, wie beispielsweise der Dokumentationspflichten im Qualitätsmanagement. Im Rahmen dieses Beitrages wird ein Ansatz aufgezeigt, wie sich moderne Techniken aus dem Bereich des Social Media nutzen lassen, um Qualitätsmanagement-Handbücher zu erstellen und das Leben dieser Inhalte zu intensivieren. Ein besonderes Augenmerk liegt dabei auf der Zusammenarbeit aller Mitarbeiter einer Organisation

Measuring the Performance of Service-Based Companies

Service-Based Companies (SBCs) operate in a fiercely and intense competitive market. In order to support the business processes and as a prerequisite for managing, analyzing and optimizing these processes, the measurement of performance and process attributes is required. While much of the available literature provides good guidelines regarding Performance Measurement (PM) in Product-Based Companies, there is less focus addressing challenges of measuring performance in SBCs. Because of the important role of SBCs in today’s economic environment, this paper focuses on measuring their performance. A new standardized framework is proposed where the strengths of the existing Performance Measurement approaches and the SBCs characteristics are taken into account

Architecting for Sustainability

Sustainability is becoming an increasingly important topic. Information Technology (IT) is an important factor for sustainability; it consumes a substantial, and growing, part of the world supply of energy, but it can also enable significant insights and improvements related to sustainability. These factors need to be taken into account in the design of IT systems, meaning that we need to architect for sustainability. This paper provides insights into the experience and beliefs of IT practitioners and researchers into current and desired practices of architecting for sustainability.
