    An investigation of intrinsic and extrinsic motivation on towards the level of employees' job satisfaction at Pejabat Daerah Kota Tinggi (PDKT), Johor Darul Takzim / Norhidayah Hamdan

    The study was conducted in order to identify the relationship between motivation and the level of employees' job satisfaction. This study was to investigate whether job satisfaction were influenced by intrinsic or extrinsic motivation. The sample that was investigated consisted from the staffs of Pejabat Daerah Kota Tinggi (PDKT). The instrument used to conduct this survey was by distributing the questionnaires to respondents and simple random sampling have been chosen as a technique. The findings of this study was analyzed and calculated by using IBM SPSS version 21.0 in order to identify the level motivation variables of employees and the relationship between types of motivation and the level of employees' job satisfaction. The result shows the mean values of each motivation variables and Pe8lSQn Product-Moment Correlation Coefficient was used to measure the strengths of variables which resulted the level of employees' job satisfaction at Pejabat Daerah Kota Tinggi (PDKT) was influenced by extrinsic motivation instead of intrinsic motivation. This showed that employees were lack of self-interest on motivating themselves towards their job satisfaction. Therefore, praised and trusted were suggested as recommendation for organization on increasing employee self motivation towards job satisfaction

    Texting slang is defined as a language that is commonly used in messaging as a medium of an interaction among people. However, this language does not include emoticons. The examples of texting slang are LOL, ROFL, TTYL, etc. Texting slang is highly recognized as a language that is used by users on social media. However, miscommunication and misunderstanding are bounded to be happened to those who are new to the culture or certain groups. The objectives for this research are to check the proportion of users’ current knowledge in texting slang and to identify the relationship between knowledge of texting slang and misinterpretation. The study was conducted in a public university in the east coast of Malaysia, to see if texting slang is widely used among students and staff in this institution. During the survey, questionnaire was distributed in the campus in order to collect the data. The data collected using stratified sampling with the total of 335 respondents out of 2765 total population. Based on the findings, in terms of the users’ knowledge in texting slang, the results for the interpretation of the abbreviations and acronyms show that not all respondents know what the actual meaning of each abbreviation and acronym that were used. Next, it can be seen that there is a significant relationship between the knowledge of texting slang creates the misinterpretation of the text content among users. Thus, further research in terms of the users’ knowledge and misinterpretation regarding texting slang and how these two elements affect in users’ communication whether written and spoken, could be carried out in order to understand texting slang better and thoroughly

    The Best Practices of Mcdonald’s Malaysia: A Case Study of the National Dual Training System

    The National Dual Training System (NDTS) was officially launched in February 2018 and there are five NDTS-approved McDonald’s practical training locations at the early implementation of the NDTS. By 2025, 450 McDonald’s Malaysia restaurants are expected to expand, adding 10,000 jobs to the current workforce of 12,000 employees. Based on the increasing number of employees and positive implementation of the NDTS program in McDonald’s Malaysia, this study aimed to explore the best practices of McDonald’s Malaysia in the context of NDTS. Methodologically, a qualitative approach was employed in this study by conducting a group discussion with the McDonald’s personnel, document analysis (such as news, annual reports, and websites) and a literature review. From the thematic analysis, the findings highlight the best practices of McDonald’s Malaysia and the positive implications of the NDTS implementation. A review of McDonald's training and skill development around the world provides additional support for the findings. Significantly, this study contributes to promote the best practices of McDonald’s Malaysia, the positive image of McDonald's Malaysia and the positive implications of NDTS in supporting skills development in Malaysia
