Bound States of the Dirac Equation for a Class of Effective Quadratic Plus Inversely Quadratic Potentials
The Dirac equation is exactly solved for a pseudoscalar linear plus
Coulomb-like potential in a two-dimensional world. This sort of potential gives
rise to an effective quadratic plus inversely quadratic potential in a
Sturm-Liouville problem, regardless the sign of the parameter of the linear
potential, in sharp contrast with the Schroedinger case. The generalized Dirac
oscillator already analyzed in a previous work is obtained as a particular
case.Comment: 14 pages, 5 figure
Unimodal generalized pseudo-Anosov maps
An infinite family of generalized pseudo-Anosov homeomorphisms of the sphere
S is constructed, and their invariant foliations and singular orbits are
described explicitly by means of generalized train tracks. The complex strucure
induced by the invariant foliations is described, and is shown to make S into a
complex sphere. The generalized pseudo-Anosovs thus become quasiconformal
automorphisms of the Riemann sphere, providing a complexification of the
unimodal family which differs from that of the Fatou/Julia theory.Comment: Published by Geometry and Topology at

Plant Metabolomics Applications in the Brassicaceae: Added Value for Science and Industry
Crops from the family Brassicaceae represent a diverse and very interesting group of plants. In addition, their close relationship with the model plant, Arabidopsis thaliana, makes combined research on these species both scientifically valuable and of considerable commercial importance. In the post-genomics era, much effort is being placed on expanding our capacity to use advanced technologies such as proteomics and metabolomics, to broaden our knowledge of the molecular organization of plants and how genetic differences are translated into phenotypic ones. Metabolomics in particular is gaining much attention mainly due both to the comprehensiveness of the technology and also the potentially close relationship between biochemical composition (including human health-related phytochemicals) and phenotype. In this short review, a brief introduction to the main metabolomics technologies is given taking examples from research on the Brassicaceae for illustratio
SemWeB Semantic Web Browser ā Improving Browsing Experience with Semantic and Personalized Information and Hyperlinks
Imagine a Web browser that can understand the context of a Web page and recommends related semantic hyperlinks in any Web domain. In addition, imagine this browser also understands your browsing needs and personalizes information for you. The aim of our research is to achieve this in open Web environment using Semantic Web technologies and adaptive hypermedia techniques. In this paper, we discuss a novel Semantic Web browser, SemWeB, which utilizes linked data for context-based hyperlink recommendation and uses a behavior-based and an ontology-driven user modeling architecture for personalization on Web documents. The aim of this research is to bring the gap between the technology and user needs using Semantic Web technologies in Web browsing
