AbstractThis research aims to determine and describe the translation ability of students' mathematical representations in the material of adding fractions in class VII SMP Muhammadiyah 2 Pontianak. The subjects of this study were 27 grade VII students of SMP Muhammadiyah 2 Pontianak. The method used in this research is descriptive method with a survey form. The techniques used in this research are measurement techniques through written tests in the form of essays and direct communication techniques through interviews. Based on the results of data analysis, the translation ability of students' mathematical representations is included in the medium category. The ability to translate students 'representations from verbal to symbolic forms is in the high and very high category and vice versa, the translational ability of students' representations from symbolic to verbal forms is in the low, medium and high categories. The ability to translate students 'representations from verbal to image forms is in the medium, high and very high categories and vice versa, the translational ability of students' representations from images to verbal forms is in the medium, high and very high categories. Keywords: Fraction, Representation, Translation Abilit

AbstractThe purpose of this study was to determine the mathematical concepts contained in the Malay Sambas engset game and the relationship between the mathematical concepts and the Malay Sambas engset game and to apply the Malay Sambas engset game in the form of LKPD in mathematics learning in class VIII junior high school in flat shape material. The form of research was qualitative with an ethnographic approach. Data collection tools in the form of a camera, interview guidelines, and observation guidelines. The object of this research was the engset Malay Sambas game in Kubangga village, Teluk Keramat sub-district related to playing tools, playing fields, playing rules, and how to play. The results showed that there were 9 mathematical concepts that exist in the Malay Sambas engset game related to playing tools, playing fields, playing rules, and how to play, namely the concept of flat shape, building space, congruence, reflection, mathematical logic, set, chance, counting, and number pattern. Keywords: Ethnomathematic Exploration, Engset Games, Mathematics Learnin

AbstractThis study aims to determine and describe the feasibility of a mathematics learning design with the M-APOS approach on the subject derivative of algebraic functions in high school. The feasibility of the learning design was seen from the aspect of validity and practicality. The research method used was the Research and Development (R&D) method. The development model used in this study refered to the ASSURE development model which consists of five stages, including analysis of student characteristics, formulating learning objectives, selecting methods, media, and teaching materials, using media and teaching materials, and evaluation and revision. The learning design developed included RPP and LKPD following the M-APOS approach which includ LKT, LKD, and Exercises. The results of the study, including the mean score of validity, was 4 and the opinions of the validators and students who said that the learning design was practical or easy to apply in learning. So, the mathematics learning design with the M-APOS approach on the derivative material of algebraic functions in high school was feasible with valid and practical criteria for use. Keywords: Derivative of Algebraic Functions, Learning Design, M-APOS Approac

Abstract This research described about students' mathematical problem solving abilities in terms of students' self-concept. This research was conducted at Madrasah Stanawiyah Negeri 3 Mempawah. The method used in this research was descriptive research method with survey research form. The research subjects were students of class VIII who had learned comparative material. The object of the research was the eighth grade students who have high, medium and low problem solving abilities, amounting to 9 students based on the results of the considerations conveyed by the mathematics subject teacher at the school. The results obtained in this study were that almost all students were able to understand the problem, while the stages of problem planning, carrying out problem planning and checking back were still not fulfilled. In this research there were three students who have positive self-concept and six students who have negative self-concept.Keywords : problem solving abilities, self-concep

The aim of this research is to know: 1) students beginning ability in solving question about piece counting operation before multi representative based learning, 2) students ability in solving question about piece counting operation after multi representative based learning are observed based on students beginning ability, and 3) the effefct of multi representative based learning in piece counting operation material to students abillity of MTs Darul Hidayah Rasau Jaya Grade VII in Kubu Raya regency of West Kalimantan. The method used in this research was pre-experimental research which used pretest-posttest design. the research sample was grade VII A students that consisted of 25 students. The result of data analysis showed that students beginning ability were included into middle group, students ability after multi representative based learning showed that some students got constant score, both constant high score and constant low score. There were 11 students got improvement on their score, 5 students got down their score, 4 students got constantly high and 5 students got constantly low. The effect of multi representative based learning in piece counting to MTs students ability
