    We experimentallydemonstrateanopticalfiberbundlebasedsensorformeasuringformaldehydeconcentrationinfish.Weshowthatwhencontaminatedfish samples areshinedwithredlaserlightwithabout630nmwavelength,theintensityofthebackscatteredradiationincreaseslinearlywithrespecttotheformaldehyde concentration. Oursensorhasasimplearchitecture,itexhibitsgoodsensitivity,linearityandstabilityandithasbeentestedforformaldehydeconcentrationsranging from 3%to21%.Oursensorallowsnon-destructive,on-sitemeasurementsandwillhaveapplicationstowardsthedevelopmentofall-opticalcheapandportable sensors fordetectionofpollutantsandtoxicchemicalsinthefoodindustryandintheagriculturesector,beingpotentiallysuitableformeasurementsinthefield
