Tuberculosis Suspect in the Companies in Semarang District Indonesia; Case-Control Study

In Semarang district, the population at the companies were 83120 workers. The number of smear positive cases in 2011 were 258 and 3898 suspected tuberculosis. Case-control study was conducted to analyze the risk of TB suspect infection among workers in the factory. We recruited 194 suspects and 197 controls who visited the factory clinic. The most common symptom was coughing with sputum (63 %) and then followed by malaise, chest pain, sweating at night, weight loss, dyspnea, anorexia, cough more than 2 weeks, sub febris and hemoptoe. Around 47 % both of the suspects and controls don't know received Bacillus Calmette-guérin (BCG) or not. The multivariate analysis showed the dominant factors that influence the occurrence of TB suspect, “education”, “income”, “ashamed of having TB”, “TB treatment is very costly”, and “share dish”.distribution of health education booklet to teachers and parents

    Simulation of a Dripping Faucet

We present a simulation of a dripping faucet system. A new algorithm based on Lagrangian description is introduced. The shape of drop falling from a faucet obtained by the present algorithm agrees quite well with experimental observations. Long-term behavior of the simulation can reproduce period-one, period-two, intermittent and chaotic oscillations widely observed in experiments. Possible routes to chaos are discussed.Comment: 20 pages, 15 figures, J. Phys. Soc. Jpn. (in press

Dripping Faucet Dynamics Clarified by an Improved Mass-Spring Model

An improved mass-spring model for a dripping faucet is presented. The model is constructed based on the numerical results which we recently obtained from fluid dynamical calculations. Both the fluid dynamical calculations and the present mass-spring model exhibit a variety of complex behavior including transition to chaos in good agreement with experiments. Further, the mass-spring model reveals fundamental dynamics inherent in the dripping faucet system.Comment: 17 pages, 17 figure

Inertial- and Dissipation-Range Asymptotics in Fluid Turbulence

We propose and verify a wave-vector-space version of generalized extended self similarity and broaden its applicability to uncover intriguing, universal scaling in the far dissipation range by computing high-order (\leq 20\/) structure functions numerically for: (1) the three-dimensional, incompressible Navier Stokes equation (with and without hyperviscosity); and (2) the GOY shell model for turbulence. Also, in case (2), with Taylor-microscale Reynolds numbers 4 \times 10^{4} \leq Re_{\lambda} \leq 3 \times 10^{6}\/, we find that the inertial-range exponents (\zeta_{p}\/) of the order - p\/ structure functions do not approach their Kolmogorov value p/3\/ as Re_{\lambda}\/ increases.Comment: RevTeX file, with six postscript figures. epsf.tex macro is used for figure insertion.
