    Get PDF
The goal of our study is to examine, how the logic of change management implementation and analysing raster of success factors helps to lay the foundation of building up knowledge management system. We led our research first of all along theoretical basis building upon technical literature. We present a generally utilized changing logic extracting those essential elements that get similar importance in the course of building up a learning organizational culture. As a result of our work we established that the utilization of change management logic is indispensable for the successful formation of corporate knowledge management system. Accordingly with the appearance of the demand on continuous learning and putting the individual in the centre both on individual- group- and organizational level simplify work. Comparing the two logics confirms our hypothesis.organization, change management, knowledge, learning organization, knowledge management.

Neutron and proton tests of different technologies for the upgrade of the cold readout electronics of the ATLAS Hadronic End-cap Calorimeter

The expected increase of total integrated luminosity by a factor ten at the HL-LHC compared to the design goals for LHC essentially eliminates the safety factor for radiation hardness realized at the current cold amplifiers of the ATLAS Hadronic End-cap Calorimeter (HEC). New more radiation hard technologies have been studied: SiGe bipolar, Si CMOS FET and GaAs FET transistors have been irradiated with neutrons up to an integrated fluence of 2.2 x 10^{16} n/cm^2 and with 200 MeV protons up to an integrated fluence of 2.6 x 10^{14} p/cm^2. Comparisons of transistor parameters such as the gain for both types of irradiations are presented.Comment: 6 pages, CALOR2012 Conference Proceeding

Low Voltage Control for the Liquid Argon Hadronic End-Cap Calorimeter of ATLAS

    Get PDF
At the ATLAS detector a SCADA system surveys and controls the sub- detectors. The link is realized by PVSS2 software and a CanBus hardware system. The low voltages for the Hadronic Endcaps of the liquid argon calorimeter are produced by DC/DC-converters in the power boxes and split into 320 channels corresponding to the pre- amplifier and summing boards in the cryostat. Six units of a prototype distribution board are currently under test. Each of it contains 2 ELMBs as CanBus interface, a FPGA of type QL3012 for digital control and 30 low voltage regulators for the individual fine adjustments of the outputs

HOW ONLINE CUSTOMER REVIEWS AFFECT SALES AND RETURN BEHAVIOR – AN EMPIRICAL ANALYSIS IN FASHION E-COMMERCE

    Get PDF
The goal of this study is to get a better understanding of the relationship between online customer re-views (OCRs), product returns and sales after returns in online fashion. Furthermore, we generate deeper insights about the moderating role of mobile shopping usage, product involvement and brand equity in this context. We answer our research questions by empirically analyzing a unique data set from a European fashion e-commerce company. This study links a wide range of transaction data (2.5 billion page clicks, 46 thousand different products, 700 brands, 40 product categories, 72 million sold and 33 million returned items) with a large set of OCRs (0.9 million). Our results show that positive OCRs can lead to lower return rates, higher sales after returns, and better conversion rates. Consider-ing higher search costs on mobile devices, we reveal a weaker impact of OCRs in the mobile than in the desktop sales channel. Furthermore, in line with involvement theory, we see a significant impact of product involvement in this context such as the influence of positive OCRs is stronger for high-involvement products than vice versa. Moreover, we find support for statements from brand signaling literature, that OCRs matter more for weak than for strong brands

Causation and effectuation in the context of product development process in a large-sized established company

    Get PDF
Effectuation represents entrepreneurial way of thinking and it is commonly applied to new ventures. Causation, as the inverse logic to effectuation, represents traditional way of thinking, and it is commonly used among large existing organizations. Recent research on effectuation shows that causation and effectuation are two relative logics, and effectuation can be extended to the existing organizations. The purpose of this research is to study relationship between causation and effectuation and to reveal how causation and effectuation influence each other during the product development process of Stage-Gate in the context of a large existing organization

Judicial Education: Pedagogy for a Change

    Get PDF
Canadian judges have maintained a steadfast, long-term commitment to judicial education. Through teaching one another, judges renew their vision over time, and more concretely, address their concerns and challenges today. Since its inception in 1985, the National Judicial Institute (NJI) has sought to be a partner and a resource to judges and Courts in a shared endeavour to create relevant, practical, and effective judicial education. Working together, the NJI, judges, and Courts have built a “Canadian model” of judicial education widely respected and emulated

Understanding Survival Strategies in Micro and Small Enterprises In Nigeria: A Brief Review of the Literature

    Get PDF
Empirical evidence overtime shows that micro and small enterprises are more susceptible to changes in their external environment due to their smallness and other peculiarities associated with them such as inadequate skill sets/manpower, lack of financial capacity, short-term orientation and necessity-entrepreneurial approach to business activities. In order to answer the question of how some MSEs survive the harsh economic environment in some developing African economies, we conducted a brief review of the literature to increase our understanding their approach to surviving difficult times.  This article presents a brief review of the literature using the Sarasvathy’s Theory of Effectuation to create an understanding of the survival strategies of micro and small -scale enterprises (MSEs) during turbulent times. The article recommends that managers of MSEs are required to develop a problem-solving intuition that helps to either avoid, be passive or active towards business challenges. Moreover, the aid of strategic alliances and industrial clusters, can also be very beneficial in surviving environmental turbulence and uncertainties

    Photoactivation mechanism of DNA photolyase

    Get PDF
This presentation is on the theoretical computational study of the DNA photolyase from E. coli. Continuum electrostatic method [4] is employed to get a full insight into the photoactivation mechanism of the enzyme. Protonation state of titratable residues, the redox potentials of tryptophan triad, energetics and the reaction rates are calculated and compared with available experimental data. The free energies of all potentially relevant states for the radical transfer during the photoactivation process are evaluated
