Species identifications of Prionotus and Bellator are often difficult under field conditions owing to the large number of species and their overlapping taxonomic characteristics. This key is intended to provide a simplified, accurate means to identify adult searobins greater than 10 cm standard length. Asa Koma : site néolithique dans le bassin du Gobaad (République de Djibouti)

International audienceLe site néolithique d’Asa Koma, dans le bassin du Gobaad, en République de Djibouti, a fait l’objet de cinq campagnes de fouilles entre 1986 et 1996, d’abord sous la direction de R. Joussaume puis celle de X. Gutherz. La présente monographie, fruit de la collaboration de quinze chercheurs reprend l’ensemble des données disponibles à l’issue des travaux de terrain pour les analyser selon différentes approches disciplinaires. Il en résulte un panorama complet et riche d’informations inédites qui offre un nouveau regard sur la période au cours de laquelle la région a basculé dans un monde nouveau, celui de l’économie de production. C’est en effet à ce moment là que, dans le bassin lacustre du Gobaad, après une longue phase humide qui avait favorisé l’installation de sociétés de pêcheurs, chasseurs et collecteurs, un retour à des conditions plus arides au cours du IIIe millénaire avant notre ère amena ces mêmes populations à adopter de nouvelles stratégies alimentaires, en particulier l’élevage des bovins, des chèvres et des moutons. Cette monographie constitue le premier ouvrage interdisciplinaire consacré à l’étude d’un site néolithique dans l’ensemble des pays de la Corne de l’Afrique
