Dominant strategic archetype of the Russian industrial firm
Based on the results of the large-scale survey in Russian industrial enterprises we made an attempt to describe the dominant archetype of the Russian industrial firm in terms of strategic patterns, prevailing corporate trajectories and resulting competitive positioning. We have seen that the dominant archetype based on unrealistic beliefs about the organizational life and wrongly understood standards of social responsibility leads in a majority of cases to ineffective corporate trajectories and suppression of the development potential of quality-oriented companies.

The impact of national context effects on HRM practices in Russian subsidiaries of Western MNCs
This article contributes to the research on comparative human resource management by providing a model of the Russian business system and its effect on human resource management practices at Russian subsidiaries of Western multinational companies. Whitley’s approach was adopted to illustrate the links between institutional arenas, business systems, and human resource management practices. The empirical part is based on interviews with senior human resources managers of Western multinational companies operating in Russia. The findings provide insight into the interaction between the national business system and human resource management practices in Russia
The Activity of Antioxidant and Anaerobic Glycolysis Enzymes Under Thermal Gradient Exposure in Palearctic Species Lymnaea stagnalis
The aim of present study was the evaluation of antioxidant (peroxidase, catalase, glutathione S transferase) and anaerobic glycolysis (lactate dehydrogenase) enzymes activity under thermal gradient in Palearctic species Lymnaea stagnalis (Linnaeus, 1758). Activity of peroxidase, lactate dehydrogenase and glutathione S-transferase elevated in L. stagnalis under thermal exposure. Opposite to this, activity of catalase decreased in same condition. We demonstrated antioxidant nd anaerobic glycolysis enzymes participation in adaptation mechanisms to environmental hanges in gastropods L. stagnalis

A Comparative Analysis of hsp70 mRNA and HSP70 Protein Expression in Two Distant Populations of the Baikal Amphipod Eulimnogammarus verrucosus (Gerstf., 1858)
Basal levels of hsp70 (mRNA) and HSP70 (protein) were measured in representatives from two distant populations of the amphipod Eulimnogammarus verrucosus (Gerstf.) endemic to Lake Baikal using quantitative PCR (qPCR) and Western blotting upon lab acclimation. In addition, hsp70 mRNA and HSP70 protein levels in animals subjected to gradual temperature increase were measured. In contrast to hsp70 mRNA levels that were similar in both populations basal HSP70 protein levels were higher in representatives of the southern population than compared to the northern population. Changes in hsp70 mRNA levels at increased temperature tended to be more pronounced in the southern population compared to the northern one, whereas HSP70 protein changed only slightly in both populations. The data indicate differences in the phenotypic plasticity of the hsp/HSP70 stress response in different populations of this species
Organizational Changes in Russian Industrial Enterprises: Mutation of Decision-Making Structures and Transformation of Ownership
The paper summarizes the results of 20 case studies in Russian domestically oriented industrial companies. Through interviews with corporate executives and surveys of employees we revealed the changes in decision-making authority and transformations in control structures. Five major types of control, currently prevailing in Russian industrial companies are identified, and their strengths and weakness for building consistent corporate strategies are outlined. The possession by top executives of blocking interests (25-30% of the stock) in their companies is considered to be a necessary pre-requisite for building a consistent adaptation strategy.http://deepblue.lib.umich.edu/bitstream/2027.42/39584/3/wp197.pd
