    Teaching Practice and Research on BIM-Based Assembled Building Measurement and Valuation

    As the construction industry and information technology are being deeply integrated, it is of great practical significance to rapidly develop the practical training course Measurement and Valuation of Prefabricated Construction based on building information modeling (BIM). In this paper, we comprehensively analyze the status quo of teaching of the course Measurement and Valuation of Prefabricated Construction in China as well as the existing problems about the BIM-integrated teaching. Further, we take into account four aspects as per the talent training program: course system setup, syllabus development, teacher team building, and construction of a BIM-based construction cost practice base. Then, we put forward a teaching reform mode of the course Measurement and Valuation of Prefabricated Construction, namely a new "five-in-one" teaching mode, which matches new technology and adapts to the transformation and upgrading of China's construction industry. We perform a teaching reform in the BIM-based practical training course Measurement and Valuation of Prefabricated Construction for construction cost majors in School of Construction and Engineering at a Guangxi university. This reform is fruitful and provides a theoretical reference for carrying out the similar reform across China.     Multipath trapping dynamics of nanoparticles towards an integrated waveguide with a high index contrast

    Optical trapping and manipulation of nanoparticles in integrated photonics devices have recently received increasingly more attention and greatly facilitated the advances in lab-on-chip technologies. In this work, by solving motion equation numerically, we study the trapping dynamics of a nanoparticle near a high-index-contrast slot waveguide, under the influence of water flow perpendicular to the waveguide. It is shown that a nanoparticle can go along different paths before it gets trapped, strongly depending on its initial position relative to the integrated waveguide. Due to localized optical field enhancement on waveguide sidewalls, there are multiple trapping positions, with a critical area where particle trapping and transport are unstable. As the water velocity increases, the effective trapping range shrinks, but with a rate that is smaller than the increasing of water velocity. Finally, the trapping range is shown to decrease for smaller slot width that is below 100 nm, even though smaller slot width generates stronger local optical force

    On the growth of national geoparks in China: distribution, interpretation, and regional comparison

    Since the year 2000 China has created 139 National Geoparks; it started under the guidance of the former UNESCO\u27s Division of Earth Science, and has therefore become one of the pioneers in this aspect. Many National Geoparks in China have been described over the past decade, but an understanding of the range of various landform features and their connection with geological and climatic constraints has not previously been published. Based on an increasing awareness of National Geoparks, the aim of this contribution is to provide a comprehensive overview of the National Geoparks of China by reviewing the geological heritage and their intrinsic linkages with geological and climatic controls. A regional comparison of the widespread clastic and karst Geopark landforms indicates that the development of these terrains can only be understood within a synthesis of tectonic constraints, climatic changes and lithological properties, whereas the variety of types, forms, scales and development patterns reflect processes in various climatic settings

    Intraperitoneal ropivacaine and early postoperative pain and postsurgical outcomes after laparoscoipc herniorrhaphy in toddlers: a randomized clinical trial

    Background Postoperative pain can cause physiological distress, postoperative complications, and extended lengths of hospitalized stay. In children, management of postoperative pain is still recognized as being inadequate. Objective The aim of this trial was to investigate the effects of intraperitoneal ropivacaine on postoperative pain, and recovery of bowel function and emetic events after laparoscopic herniorrhaphy in toddlers. Methods Seventy-six children aged from 9 months to 3 years were recruited between August 2013 and June 2014 at Tongji Hospital and randomly assigned into two groups. One group received intraperitoneal ropivacaine right before surgery and the control group received intraperitoneal saline. A standard combined general anesthesia procedure was performed under regular monitoring. Postoperative pain was assessed by the FLACC scale. Postoperative analgesic consumption, time to flatus, time to first stool, and postoperative emetic events were also recorded. Results When compared with the control group, children who received intraperitoneal ropivacaine experienced less pain 0–4 h after surgery [P < 0.001, difference in median FLACC (95% CI) for 2 h time point is 2.00 (0.87–3.13), for 4 h time point is 1.00 (0.55–1.45)]. In addition, the number of toddlers who received analgesia 0–24 h after surgery in the ropivacaine group was lower than that in the control group [P < 0.001, difference in proportions (95% CI) is 0.575 (0.3865–0.7638)]. Compared with the control group, time to flatus in ropivacaine group was also much shorter [21.1 h vs 16.7 h, P = 0.04, difference in mean (95% CI) is 4.4 (1.49–7.28)], and the time to first stool after surgery was earlier in the ropivacaine group [30.7 h vs 25.6 h, P = 0.003, difference in mean (95% CI) is 5.1 (1.78–8.45)]. Furthermore, the incidence of emetic events in the ropivacaine group was significantly lower than the control group [32.4% vs 11.1%, P = 0.03, difference in proportions (95% CI) is 0.212 (0.0246–0.4002)]. Conclusion The present results indicate that intraperitoneal ropivacaine reduces early postoperative pain and improves recovery after laparoscopic herniorrhaphy in toddlers. Therefore, IPLA is a good stratagem for postoperative pain management after laparoscopic surgery in toddlers

    An Empirical Study on Campus Dwelling Environment Quality in Beijing and Its Influencing Factors

    Combining with the current dwelling environmental assessment system, this article reviews the domestic and foreign theoretical documents, and tries to construct an evaluation model based on the influencing factors of campus dwelling environment quality in Beijing, including natural landscape, amenities and cultural environment. The research indicates that the campus dwelling environment quality is linearly related with and can be effectively predicted by these three factors. It also shows that the regression coefficient of cultural environment is the highest among the three; but most interviewees didn’t appraise their campus dwelling environment quality high. Therefore, colleges in Beijing need to improve especially in the following three aspects – gas power system (natural landscape), population density (amenities) and manager quality (cultural environment) – to make the campus dwelling environment clean pleasant and eco-friendly.Key words: Universities in Beijing; Dwelling environment; Natural landscape; Amenities; Cultural environmen

    The seeds of ecological recovery in urbanization-Spatiotemporal evolution of ecological resiliency of Dianchi Lake Basin, China

    As a result of years of monitoring the ecological resiliency of natural areas and cities, it has become clear that it is both important and often feasible to implement ecological and environmental restoration in conjunction with ongoing processes of landscape change development and urbanization. Ecological resiliency and spatiotemporal evolution studies can objectively reveal the resiliency of ecosystems to external disturbances. Ecological monitoring and assessment can also help planners understand regional ecological spatial differentiation patterns and provided data support for planning. In this paper we have analyzes quantitatively the interrelationships of ecological factors in Dianchi Lake Basin (DLB) over the past 30 years and explored the spatial and temporal dynamics of ecological resiliency. Based on remote sensing images and primary data in 1995, 2005, 2010, 2015, 2018, and 2022, we used the center of gravity migration and kernel density analysis to explore the spatial and temporal changes of ecological resiliency. We built the overall resiliency evaluation system using entropy weight in the TOPSIS model, and finally simulate the future changes based on CA-Markov (CA-MC) model. The results show that from 1995 to 2022, the ecological resiliency of land use and vegetation cover in DLB decreased substantially. An important finding was that the ecological resiliency of riparian buffer zone and landscape pattern were generally increasing. The distribution of barycenter movement and kernel density of different levels of ecological resiliency differed significantly and showed fluctuating changes. The extreme low resiliency and extremely resilient areas shift to the northeast, the mildly resilient areas shift to the northwest, and the highly resilient areas shift to the southeast. The overall resiliency level of DLB is predicted to slowly increase from 2022 to 2030 by deduction of the CA-MC model. Our analysis suggests that the study of the evolution of regional ecological resiliency can provide a timely understanding of regional ecological evolution patterns and propose ecological protection strategies

    Infrared Drying as a Quick Preparation Method for Dried Tangerine Peel

    To establish the most convenient and effective method to dry tangerine peels, different methods (sun drying, hot-air drying, freeze drying, vacuum drying, and medium- and short-wave infrared drying) were exploited. Our results indicated that medium- and short-wave infrared drying was the best method to preserve nutraceutical components; for example, vitamin C was raised to 6.77 mg/g (D.W.) from 3.39 mg/g (sun drying). Moreover, the drying time can be shortened above 96% compared with sun drying. Importantly, the efficiency of DPPH radical scavenging was enhanced from 26.66% to 55.92%. These findings would provide a reliable and time-saving methodology to produce high-quality dried tangerine peels

    A study revealing mechanisms behind the stone cell of Yali pear degradation by mixed‐culture fermentation of lactic acid bacteria and yeast

    The presence of stone cells in pears is recognized as a problem for the pear processing industry. Bacillus and mold can degrade stone cells because of their potential to digest cellulose and lignin, but they cannot be used for the degradation test of pear stone cells. In this study Lactoplantibacillus plantarum JYLP‐326 was used in single culture or in the mixed culture with Saccharomyces cerevisiae Y2 to study their potential to degrade stone cells during fermentation and the mechanism of degradation was further explored. Synergy in cellulase activity was observed in the mixed‐culture where the maximum activity was observed at 96th hour of fermentation. Activities of endoglucanase, exoglucanase and β‐glucosidase were 1.75, 4.58, and 2.31. The degradation rate of stone cells in the mixed‐culture was 37.67%, which was significantly higher than that the results obtained for single cultures. The results of scanning electron microscopy (SEM) showed that the surface of the cultured stone cells became rough. Metabolomics studies confirmed the presence of specific metabolites related to the degradation of stone cells after the fermentation. It was concluded that the mixed‐culture fermentation using the above‐mentioned strains could be exploited by the pear processing industry to degrade stone cells
