Uncertainty and risk always accompanies the process of enterprise management strategic solutions. Organizations are in the situation of uncertainty about the consequences of their decisions during the making of economic decisions, including the consideration of information contained in enterprise financial statements. Most decisions of economic agents are related with their desire to achieve the highest possible income. The concept of risk is significant in economy, because the persons, who make decisions, compare the risks with the expected income. The purpose of research is to determine the impact of information disclosure about the risks in financial statement on strategic planning. The method of Monte - Carlo (Monte-Carlo Simulation) was used in the article, which consists in a simulation experiment performance as the tool of future income prediction taking into account the evaluation of risks. The article demonstrated the procedure of a model development randomly. The result of its application determines the probability of the various variant plans embodiments

The urgency of the given research is defined by the fact that the improvement of financial reporting quality which is the basic source for the conduction of enterprise's financial state and results of activity analysis is continuously connected to the efficiency of assets and liabilities, their quantification and classification. The purpose of the research is to consider the basic approaches to the definition of financial reporting quality, to reveal interrelation between professional accounting judgment regarding accounting objects and forecast value of information introduced to users

    Quality development in education

    Get PDF
The article suggests that people involved in quality development need a specific competence, called quality literacy, in order to successfully improve learning processes. Quality literacy is viewed as a set of competencies that are needed for professional quality development. Quality literacy emphasizes the importance of professionalism as a necessary component for quality development, in addition to structural quality management models. Quality development is a co-production between learners and their learning environment. This means that the educational process can only be influenced and optimized through participation and not steered externally. Quality strategies cannot, therefore, guarantee a high quality of learning processes but rather aim at professionalisation of the educational process. This article suggests participation and negotiation between educational participants (clients and providers) as a main condition for quality development. © 2009 Springer Berlin Heidelberg

The role of plastid genes in a heterosis effect and the formation of morphophysiological traits in sunflower plants

Background. The problem of nucleus-plastid interactions is obviously of theoretical and practical importance. However, the lack of knowledge in this area of plant research is, for the most part, caused by difficulties in isolating the contribution of the plastome to the formation of complex morphophysiological traits from the total genotypic variability. The current study employed a convenient model for studying the fundamental problem of interaction between the nucleus and plastid genomes.Materials and methods. The genetic model incorporated chlorophylldeficient sunflower mutant lines with extranuclear inheritance, developed on the genetic basis of a single inbred line. Various traits were measured in hybrids and parents, such as growth rate, plant height, inflorescence width, 1000 seed weight, chlorophyll content, seed oil content, etc. Results and conclusion. While crossing extranuclear mutant lines with wild sunflower, a heterosis effect was observed for such traits as plant height and leaf size, regardless of the low chlorophyll content in F1 hybrids. The growth rates of hybrids depended on the crossing combination: from an 86% excess (en:chlorina-7 maternal line) to complete absence of the heterosis effect (en:chlorina-6 maternal line). The results obtained witness to a significant contribution of cytogenes to the control over the trait. The inflorescence width and 1000 seed weight in all hybrid combinations (except en:chlorina-3) had similar quantitative characteristics as in the maternal mutant lines, and significantly exceeded the paternal form (wild sunflower). Consequently, plastid genes, along with nuclear ones, participate in the expression of these phenotypic traits. As for the oil content in seeds, no heterosis effect was observed in the hybrids

Effect of heat-treatment conditions on the formation of polyferrite phases from an iron-oxide-based dehydrogenation catalyst

    Get PDF
The formation of polyferrites from an iron-oxide-based catalyst under various heat-treatment conditions has been studied by thermal analysis and x-ray diffraction. Promoters are shown to influence the aggregation of secondary particles and the recrystallization temperature of the ferric oxide. Mechanisms are proposed for potassium polyferrite formation at high and low heating rates. The effect of heat-treatment temperature on the potassium ferrite and iron oxide contents of the catalyst is analyzed. © 2008 MAIK

Binding of organic matter into an oxidation-resistant form during the interaction of clay minerals with plant residues

    Get PDF
The binding of organic matter by clay minerals was studied in experiments simulating the transformation of clay rock with a high content of dioctahedral 2:1 phases in the soil during its interaction with decomposing plant residues. Using modern methods (X-ray phase analysis, thermal analysis and Fouriertransform IR spectroscopy, and adsorption-luminescence analysis), it was shown that the binding of organic matter into a form resistant to treatment with 30% H2O2 entailed changes in the actual structure of the clay aggregates. Peculiar organic-silicate compositions with their structure disordered along the c* axis were formed, in which organic matter was localized both on the surface of the particles and in the interlayer spaces. © 2010 Pleiades Publishing, Ltd

Irreversible fixation of organic components in labile interspaces as a mechanism for the chemical stabilization of clay-organic structures

The relationship between the fixation of organic matter into a form resistant to oxidative destruction and the actual structure of the clay component was studied in profiles of different-aged chernozemic soils of a filled fortification in the Volga Bulgaria. With the use of modern methods (X-ray phase analysis, laser diffraction granulometry, hyphenated thermal analysis-FT-IR spectroscopy, adsorption-luminescence analysis, and ICP emission spectroscopy), it was shown that the formation of organic-smectite complexes with a disordered c*-axis structure is a universal and usual way for the kinetic stabilization of the system during pedogenesis under forest-steppe conditions. The main aim of the study was to experimentally substantiate this phenomenon. © 2012 Pleiades Publishing, Ltd

© 2014 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved. The solidification of nitrate solutions with alkali-activated slag (AASC) and slag-metakaolin cements (AASMC) and the resulting setting times, compressive strengths, dimensional stability, water resistance, hydration products, microstructures, and macroporous network structures were evaluated. The influences of the alkali activator concentration, mineral composition of metakaolin, ratio of slag to slag + metakaolin, and concentration of NaNO3 on the cement performance were all evaluated in detail. The compressive strength of cemented nitrate solutions with AASC and AASMC aged for 28 days was from 13.4 to 42 MPa depending on the NaNO3 concentration. X-ray diffractometer, differential thermal analyzer, and electron microscope analyses suggested that NaNO3 crystallizes in cementitious matrices without reacting with the hydration products of AASC and AASMC. X-ray microtomography showed that the solidified NaNO3 solution with a salt concentration of 700 g/l and AASC had a denser microstructure without shrinkage microcracks, a smaller macropore volume, and smaller macropore sizes than hardened AASC-based paste mixed with water
