Semiclassical limit for the nonlinear Klein Gordon equation in bounded domains

We are interested to the existence of standing waves for the nonlinear Klein Gordon equation {\epsilon}^2{\box}{\psi} + W'({\psi}) = 0 in a bounded domain D. The main result of this paper is that, under suitable growth condition on W, for {\epsilon} sufficiently small, we have at least cat(D) standing wavesfor the equation ({\dag}), while cat(D) is the Ljusternik-Schnirelmann category

Singular p-Laplacian parabolic system in exterior domains: higher regularity of solutions and related properties of extinction and asymptotic behavior in time

We consider the IBVP in exterior domains for the p-Laplacian parabolic system. We prove regularity up to the boundary, extinction properties for p \in ( 2n/(n+2) , 2n/(n+1) ) and exponential decay for p= 2n/(n+1)

Institutional Arrangements and Fiscal Performance: The Latin American Experience

This paper considers whether institutional factors, in this instance electoral systems and procedures, affect Latin American countries` fiscal performance as measured by the size of the public sector, fiscal deficits, the size of the public debt, and the degree of procyclality of fiscal policy. The authors find that electoral systems characterized by large district magnitude and high political fragmentation have larger governments, larger deficits, and more procyclical fiscal policies. Transparent and hierarchical budget procedures, on the other hand, lead to lower deficits and levels of debt.
