The large scale microelectronics Computer-Aided Design and Test (CADAT) system
The CADAT system consists of a number of computer programs written in FORTRAN that provide the capability to simulate, lay out, analyze, and create the artwork for large scale microelectronics. The function of each software component of the system is described with references to specific documentation for each software component
Lax Operator for the Quantised Orthosymplectic Superalgebra U_q[osp(2|n)]
Each quantum superalgebra is a quasi-triangular Hopf superalgebra, so
contains a \textit{universal -matrix} in the tensor product algebra which
satisfies the Yang-Baxter equation. Applying the vector representation ,
which acts on the vector module , to one side of a universal -matrix
gives a Lax operator. In this paper a Lax operator is constructed for the
-type quantum superalgebras . This can in turn be used to
find a solution to the Yang-Baxter equation acting on
where is an arbitrary module. The case is included

R-matrices and Tensor Product Graph Method
A systematic method for constructing trigonometric R-matrices corresponding
to the (multiplicity-free) tensor product of any two affinizable
representations of a quantum algebra or superalgebra has been developed by the
Brisbane group and its collaborators. This method has been referred to as the
Tensor Product Graph Method. Here we describe applications of this method to

Speciational view of macroevolution: are micro and macroevolution decoupled?
We introduce a simple computational model that, with a microscopic dynamics
driven by natural selection and mutation alone, allows the description of true
speciation events. A statistical analysis of the so generated evolutionary tree
captures realistic features showing power laws for frequency distributions in
time and size. Albeit these successful predictions, the difficulty in obtaining
punctuated dynamics with mass extinctions suggests the necessity of decoupling
micro and macro-evolutionary mechanisms in agreement with some ideas of Gould's
and Eldredge's theory of punctuated equilibrium.Comment: Europhys. Lett. 75:342--34
Trade deficits: causes and consequences
According to conventional wisdom, trade balances reflect a country's competitive strength-the lower the trade deficit, the stronger the country's industries and the higher its rate of economic growth. In this article, David Gould and Roy Ruffin review the history of the conventional wisdom and empirically examine whether large overall trade deficits or bilateral trade imbalances are associated with lower rates of economic growth. They find that, once the fundamental determinants of growth have been accounted for, trade imbalances have little effect on rates of economic growth.Deficit financing ; Free trade
Generalised Perk--Schultz models: solutions of the Yang-Baxter equation associated with quantised orthosymplectic superalgebras
The Perk--Schultz model may be expressed in terms of the solution of the
Yang--Baxter equation associated with the fundamental representation of the
untwisted affine extension of the general linear quantum superalgebra
, with a multiparametric co-product action as given by
Reshetikhin. Here we present analogous explicit expressions for solutions of
the Yang-Baxter equation associated with the fundamental representations of the
twisted and untwisted affine extensions of the orthosymplectic quantum
superalgebras . In this manner we obtain generalisations of the

Optimization in Gradient Networks
Gradient networks can be used to model the dominant structure of complex
networks. Previous works have focused on random gradient networks. Here we
study gradient networks that minimize jamming on substrate networks with
scale-free and Erd\H{o}s-R\'enyi structure. We introduce structural
correlations and strongly reduce congestion occurring on the network by using a
Monte Carlo optimization scheme. This optimization alters the degree
distribution and other structural properties of the resulting gradient
networks. These results are expected to be relevant for transport and other
dynamical processes in real network systems.Comment: 5 pages, 4 figure
Simple model of self-organized biological evolution as completely integrable dissipative system
The Bak-Sneppen model of self-organized biological evolution of an infinite
ecosystem of randomly interacting species is represented in terms of an
infinite set of variables which can be considered as an analog to the set of
integrals of motion of completely integrable system. Each of this variables
remains to be constant but its influence on the evolution process is restricted
in time and after definite moment its value is excluded from description of the
