Pentaquarks: review of the experimental evidence
Pentaquarks, namely baryons made by 4 quarks and one antiquark have been
predicted and searched for since several decades without success. Theoretical
and experimental advances in the last 2 years led to the observation of a
number of pentaquark candidates. We review the experimental evidence for
pentaquarks as well as their non-observations by some experiments, and discuss
to which extend these sometimes contradicting informations may lead to a
consistent picture.Comment: Contribution to the International Conference on 'Strangeness in Quark

Spin-parity analysis of the centrally produced K{sub s}K{sub s} system at 800 GeV
Results are presented of the spin-parity analysis on a sample of centrally produced mesons in the reaction pp {r_arrow} p{sub slow}(K{sub s}K{sub s})p{sub fast} with 800 GeV protons on liquid hydrogen. The spin-parity analysis in the mass region between threshold and 1.58 GeV/c{sup 2} shows that the K{sub s}K{sub s} system is produced mainly in S wave. The f{sub 0}(1500) is clearly observed in this region. Above 1.58 GeV/c{sup 2} two solutions are possible, one with mainly S wave and another with mainly D wave. This ambiguity prevents a unique determination of the spin of the f{sub J}(1710) meson. 9 refs., 6 figs
