Epizootiological Survey of the Isle Russian and Measures Necessary for the Prophylaxis of Tick-Born Infections among Population of the Region and Participants of APEC Summit
In spring, 2011 within the frames of epizootiological survey of the Isle Russian territory, identified were five species of Ixodic ticks: Ixodes persulcatus, I. pavlovskyi, Haemaphysalis concinna, H. japonica douglasi, Dermacentor silvarum. Those ticks were infected with the agents of tick-born encephalitis, borreliosis, rickettsiosis, and monocytic ehrlichiosis. Further preparations for the hosting of APEC Summit in the territory of the Isle in September 2012 involve large-scale construction of various facilities, transformation of natural biotopes, and significant increase in population numbers both permanently and temporally residing in the region. In this connection, a complex of preventive measures aimed at protection of local population and participants of the Summit from tick-borne infections is currently under consideration
Application features of hexane diacid polycondensation products with diethylene triamine and resin acids in paper technology
Article examines the effectiveness of the reinforcing action for the first time received additives based on adipic acid with diethylenetriamine and tall oil rosin acids rosin. It was found that the synthesized polymers exhibit polyaminoamide hydrophobic properties due to the presence in their structure of resin acids . Strengthening effect of these compoundsis shown by introducing the structure of nitrogencontaining groups contribute to the formation of additional interfiber bonds. Tests have paper samples containing in their composition nitrogen compounds showed that hardening effect new synthesized polymers are not inferior to imported compound Melapret PAE / A, and hydrophobicity and the wet paper samples with the newly synthesized polymers exceed the value of these indicators for the paper samples containing imported analog
Examination of Primorsk Territory for Current Natural Focal Infections
Territory of Primorsk is endemic for tularemia, leptospirosis, hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome, and tick-borne infections. Human (146) and animal (373) samples were examined by bacteriological, serological and molecular-genetic methods. Seroprevalence in humans is weakly expressed except tularemia (14.0-40.4%). Lack of tularemia antibody in cattle (n = 40) indicates low significance of blood-sucking insects as the infection vectors. Small mammals (n = 333) were infected with Francisella (34.1%), Leptospira (38.4%) and Hantaviruses of Puumala and Hantaan genotypes (8.7%). Two cultures: L. borgpetersenii and L. kirschneri serogroups Javanica and Grippotyphosa were isolated. High activity of the infection natural foci requires appropriate preventive measures
