The responsibilities and obligations of the special educators and the professional team that have to perform the process of inclusion is of a great importance, due to the fact that the education of children with special education needs is a serious issue which requires comprahensive approach, constant professional assistance, team work, contionuous in-service team training, as well as teacher and special educator training. Special educators should be trained for working in the regular schools. The training has to be carried out through direct support in practice, workshops and seminars, exchange of attitudes and development of further strategies for improvement of the process of inclusion. The special teacher, while teaching children with special education needs, has to realize a lot of activities such as: students’ preparation, assessment of the psychomotor development, evaluation of the students’ achieved results, adaptation of the curricula, individual work, assistance to the mainstream teachers etc. Thus, the cooperation between the professional team and the parents is very important in the process of inclusion

For our research we used ACADIA test, which contains 13 subtests for assessing the overall individual functioning. The research involved 144 students. We divided the sample into two groups, children with intellectual disability (our target group) and control group. We found that generally all students with the intellectual disability have special learning problems. According to individual subtests analysis we concluded that the ability for visual association is best developed among these students while on the subtest for auditory memory they achieved worse results. With the analysis of the control group we found that 13.75% of the students have special learning problems.&nbsp

The current interest of this professional and social problem is complex in regard with more aspects, due to the fact that the standardization of terminology use has wide meaning in the treatment of people with disabilities which essentially determine certain contents, aspects and actions. In this paper, conditionally, for all people with disability, according to the classification used in the Republic of Macedonia, the term disability is used. In practice and in communication, as well as in literature and legal regulations, a large number of different terms are used, which cause problems in protection, education and rehabilitation of people with disabilities. This paper presents a survey of the most used terms in international and national documents as well as in certain European countries and makes a conclusion that those are the terms: disability (as a general term) and children with special educational needs (when the term is used only for children). The paper refers to the terms for defectology and special education, giving the answer that there is no sign of equality between these two terms. Stating that special education is a part of defectological science, it concludes that besides the term defectology which is used in our country, in international communication the term special rehabilitation and education to be used (which actually is the subject matter of defectology as a science)

There are different approaches used to reduce reading skills deficits. One such approach, which belongs to the group of visual adaptations, is to change the font used in the texts. The main research goal is to assess the level of reading success in people with dyslexia (reading difficulties) by using a specialized Cyrillic font - Dyslexic FZF. The research was conducted on 24 persons with dyslexia from North Macedonia and obtained data about oral reading fluency and reading lists of meaningful and meaningless words with the Dyslexic FZF font and the font Times New Roman. The data of the two consecutive readings were compared. Results suggest that when using the new dyslexia typeface, Dyslexic FZF, participants were able to read more words per minute than with the Times New Roman font. A statistically significant difference in the results occurs in the errors made while reading

Family is the fi rst and most important factor for socialization of the child and for providing appropriate conditions for its normal development. Living with a child with intellectual disabilities brings signifi cant fi nancial, emotional, and general, life changes. In the last few decades treatment of those people is completely changed. From medical and institutional approach, the focus has moved towards integral rehabilitation, which includes the entire family and their needs. The aim of the research is to determinate the socio-economic status of the families who have child with intellectual disabilities. In the survey we included 104 families of the children with intellectual disability in special primary schools and Daycare center. From the available methods, we used descriptive, causal method and method of generalization. During the analysis and interpretation of the results we made review of the educational level of the parents, their employment and fi nancial condition, and the health of all family members. We found that the educational level of the member of those families is lower than the educational level in the general population; these families have a lower employment rate with lower monthly incomes compared with the average incomes, and fi nally, have generally good health with increased frequency of transient problems and chronic diseases. The obtained results indicate that families have low socioeconomic status. Some of the results show us diffi cult economic, financial and social position, which can be interpreted as alarming and requiring immediate intervention for improving the socioeconomic status of these families. On the other hand, improvement of living conditions, raising the socio-economic level by itself provides higher quality of life for the children with intellectual disability and their families
