No aplicaLa Farmacovigilancia se ocupa de la detención, evaluación y prevención de los riesgos asociados a los medicamentos, en Colombia fue creado un programa de Farmacovigilancia en 1997, liderado por el Instituto Nacional de Alimentos y Medicamentos INVIMA. Esta entidad es la encargada de vigilar y examinar el buen uso de los medicamentos antes de ser comercializado. (Proparmaresearch Organization, 2016) Los Regentes de Farmacia, los Odontólogos, Médicos y las Entidades Prestadoras de Servicio en Salud juegan un papel importante; ya que tiene la oportunidad de tratar con los pacientes y es más fácil explicarle como debe ser la administración, tiempo, dosis de cada medicamento que se prescriba y es así como cada uno de ellos aporta a la Farmacovigilancia desde sus profesiones. Cuando se presenta una reacción adversa a cualquier medicamento se debe hacer el reporte, no importa la gravedad del evento; ya sea leve, moderado o grave, con la realización de dichos reportes se garantiza la salud de las personas y la efectividad del tratamiento que se le está administrando a cada paciente. Cuando hablamos de seguridad y eficacia de un medicamento estamos resaltando que tan efectivo y seguro es dicho medicamento que se comercializa y se ingiere, aunque todo medicamento tiene sus reacciones adversas es necesario que se haga la Farmacovigilancia para contribuir con el uso adecuado de los medicamentos.Pharmacovigilance deals with the arrest, evaluation and prevention of risks associated with drugs, in Colombia a Pharmacovigilance program was created in 1997, led by the National Institute of Food and Drugs INVIMA.
