Water Supply Management In The Sao Paulo Metropolitan Area, Formulated Using An Integrated Approach

This paper describes the evolution of water supply management in the Sao Paulo Metropolitan Region and its surrounding areas. The formulation and the application of a multicriteria decision-making process to select a final planning alternative is also described. The physical, social and financial complexities of water management in this region suggest the need for an integrated management solution which encompasses all water uses and requires an inter-regional perspective.
