    Magnetic and spectral properties of multi-sublattice oxides SrY2O4:Er3+ and SrEr2O4

    SrEr2O4 is a geometrically frustrated magnet which demonstrates rather unusual properties at low temperatures including a coexistence of long- and short-range magnetic order, characterized by two different propagation vectors. In the present work, the effects of crystal fields (CF) in this compound containing four magnetically inequivalent erbium sublattices are investigated experimentally and theoretically. We combine the measurements of the CF levels of the Er3+ ions made on a powder sample of SrEr2O4 using neutron spectroscopy with site-selective optical and electron paramagnetic resonance measurements performed on single crystal samples of the lightly Er-doped nonmagnetic analogue, SrY2O4. Two sets of CF parameters corresponding to the Er3+ ions at the crystallographically inequivalent lattice sites are derived which fit all the available experimental data well, including the magnetization and dc susceptibility data for both lightly doped and concentrated samples.Comment: 14 pages, 9 figure

    Tranenendoscopic laser therapy in combination with ozone applications in treatment and rehabilitation complexes in patients with ulcer disease

    The results of the evaluation of the effectiveness of the application of therapeutic and rehabilitation complexes based on transendoscopic low-intensity laser irradiation in combination with ozone applications in 56 patients with peptic ulcer disease are presented. It has been established that low-intensity laser therapy with the transendoscopic method and ozone applications against the background of antiulcer drug therapy promotes acceleration of healing of ulcerative erosive processes, leads to the restoration of immunological reactivity with the regress of clinical and functional disorders and improvement of the quality parameters of patients' life.Представлены результаты оценки эффективности применения лечебно-реабилитационных комплексов на основе трансэндоскопического низкоинтенсивного лазерного облучения в сочетании с озоновыми аппликациями у 56 пациентов с язвенной болезнью желудка. Установлено, что низкоинтенсивная лазерная терапия трансэндоскопическим методом и озоновых аппликации на фоне противоязвенной медикаментозной терапии способствует ускорению заживления язвенно-эрозивных процессов, приводит к восстановлению иммунологической реактивности с регрессом клинико-функциональных нарушений и улучшением параметров качества жизни пациентов

    Low-intensive laser therapy in complex treatment of patients with gastric ulcer and duodenal ulcer

    The problem of peptic ulcer disease remains one of the most actual in modern gastroenterology due to the high prevalence of the disease, a chronic relapsing course, leading to a significant reduction and loss of earning capacity. The purpose is to evaluate the efficacy of intragastric low-intensive laser therapy in complex treatment of patients with gastric ulcer and 12 duodenal ulcer. Material and methods. The study included 50 patients with peptic ulcer who by means of a simple randomization divided into groups – basic and control. The main group received complex low-intensity laser therapy on the background of drug anti-ulcer therapy, the control group standard anti-ulcer therapy. Results. Using the method of EGD studies have provided evidence of activation of regenerative processes of the mucous membrane of the stomach and 12 duodenal ulcer. A comparative analysis of the dynamics of patients ' condition showed that epithelialization and scarring ulcers in 93% of patients of the main group occurs on the 2nd and 3rd week of treatment, whereas patients of the control group in these terms epithelialization and scarring is noted in 70% of patients. The result of the treatment found that intragastric laser therapy on the background of anti-ulcer drug therapy contributes to efficient recovery of the mucous membrane, activation of regenerative processes. In the control group the changes were less important. Conclusion. The use of intragastric low-intensity laser therapy on the background of drug anti-ulcer therapy of patients with peptic ulcer disease helps accelerate the healing of ulcerative and erosive processes, leads to regression of clinical and functional disorders.Проблема язвенной болезни остается одной из наиболее актуальных в современной гастроэнтерологии, что обусловлено большой распространенностью заболевания, хроническим рецидивирующим течением, приводящим к значительному снижению и потере трудоспособности. Цель – оценка эффективности применения интрагастральной низкоинтенсивной лазеротерапии в комплексном лечении пациентов с язвенной болезнью желудка и 12-перстной кишки. Материал и методы. В исследование были включены 50 пациентов с язвенной болезнью, которые методом простой рандомизации разделены на группы – основную и контрольную. Основная группа получала комплекс низкоинтенсивной лазеротерапии на фоне медикаментозной противоязвенной терапии, контрольная группа стандартную противоязвенную терапию. Результаты. С помощью метода фгдс исследования были получены данные, свидетельствующие об активизации регенераторных процессов слизистой оболочки желудка и 12-перстной кишки. Проведенный сравнительный анализ динамики состояния пациентов показал, что эпителизация и рубцевание язв у 93% пациентов основной группы происходит на 2-й и 3-й неделе лечения, тогда как у пациентов контрольной группы в эти сроки эпителизация и рубцевание отмечается у 70% пациентов. В результате проведенного лечения установлено, что интрагастральная лазеротерапия на фоне противоязвенной медикаментозной терапии способствует эффективному восстановлению слизистой оболочки, активизации регенераторных процессов. В контрольной группе динамика изменений носила менее значимый характер. Вывод. Применение интрагастральной низкоинтенсивной лазеротерапии на фоне медикаментозной противоязвенной терапии пациентов с язвенной болезнью способствует ускорению заживления язвенно-эрозивных процессов, приводит к регрессу клинико-функциональных нарушений

    Intragastric immunomodulatory effects of ozone therapy in medical rehabilitation of patients with gastric ulcer and duodenal ulcer

    Peptic ulcer and 12 duodenal ulcer are common disorders of the digestive system the upper gastrointestinal tract, which significantly reduces the quality of life and health of patients. Objective: to evaluate the effectiveness of the intragastric application of ozone therapy in the rehabilitation of patients with gastric ulcer and 12 duodenal ulcer. Material and methods. The study included 54 patients with peptic ulcer disease, which the method of simple randomization divided into groups – basic and control. The main group received complex ozone applications on the background of anti-ulcer therapy, the control group standard anti-ulcer therapy. Results. Using the method of ELISA was obtained evidence of the source of pathological changes of the immune status in the form of higher values of JgA and JgG, JgM reduced and reduced anti-inflammatory (IL-4, IL-10) and higher values of proinflammatory (IL-1β, IL-6, TNF) cytokines in patients with gastric ulcer and 12 duodenal ulcer. The result of the treatment found that intragastric ozone therapy in the form of applications on the background of anti-ulcer drug therapy contributes to efficient recovery of the immune status, immunoglobulin against the background of the regression of the inflammatory phenomena. In the control group the changes were less important. Conclusion. Intragastric application of ozone therapy in the form of an application on the background of anti-ulcer therapy of patients with peptic ulcer disease contributes to the restoration of immunological reactivity, leads to regression of clinical functional disorders and the improvement of quality of life.Язвенная болезнь желудка и 12-перстной кишки являются распространенной патологией органов пищеварения верхнего желудочно - кишечного тракта, которая существенно снижает качество жизни и работоспособность пациентов. Цель – оценка эффективности применения интрагастральной озонотерапии в реабилитации пациентов с язвенной болезнью желудка и 12-перстной кишки. Материал и методы. В исследование были включены 54 пациента с язвенной болезнью, которые методом простой рандомизации разделены на группы – основную и контрольную. Основная группа получала комплекс озоновых аппликаций на фоне противоязвенной терапии, контрольная группа стандартную противоязвенную терапию. результаты. С помощью метода ИФА были получены данные, свидетельствующие об исходных патологических изменениях иммунного статуса в виде повышенных значений JgA и JgG, сниженных JgM, а также сниженных противовоспалительных (ИЛ-4, ИЛ-10) и повышенных значений провоспалительных (ИЛ-1β, ИЛ-6, ФНОα) цитокинов у больных с язвенной болезнью желудка и 12-перстной кишки. В результате проведенного лечения установлено, что интрагастральная озонотерапия в виде аппликаций на фоне противоязвенной медикаментозной терапии способствует эффективному восстановлению иммунного статуса, иммуноглобулинов на фоне регресса воспалительных явлений. В контрольной группе динамика изменений носила менее значимый характер. Вывод. Применение интрагастральной озонотерапии в виде аппликации на фоне противоязвенной терапии пациентов с язвенной болезнью способствует восстановлению иммунологической реактивности, приводит к регрессу клинико-функциональных нарушений с улучшением качества жизни

    Platform-to-platform sample transfer, distribution, dilution, and dosing via electrothermal vaporization and electrostatic deposition

    A novel system for solid sample pretreatment, handling and dosing for analytical atomic spectrometry is described. A primary solid or liquid sample is vaporized in a graphite furnace and then condensed in a specially designed condensation zone. On the further transport path, the analyte aerosol can be diluted and distributed in pre-set ratios in the laboratory made flow control system. Applying a corona discharge, aerosol particulates are then quantitatively re-collected by means of intra-furnace electrostatic precipitation on the platform of another graphite furnace or by external precipitation on one or a set of platforms. This makes possible to produce a set of secondary platforms with equal analyte compositions from one individual primary sample. Such multitudes allow sequential multi-element determinations with single-element instrumentation or comparative measurements with different techniques. Furthermore, the described procedure allows external thermal sample pretreatment with preceding pyrolysis and additional vaporization, condensation, and re-precipitation that significantly reduces or removes the sample matrix. Owing to different losses, transport efficiencies of electrothermal vaporization (ETV) instrumentation depend on analyte element, matrix, vaporization temperature, ramp rate, and tube history. In order to reduce the losses and therewith such dependencies of the losses, new laboratory constructed ETV unit with analyte condensation in an axially focusing upstream convection zone has been constructed. Analytical performance of the new setup is compared with the performance of a commercial end-on flow-through ETV unit when analyzing both liquid dosed samples and certified solid reference materials. The new system shows much higher transport efficiencies that are, in addition, more uniform for elements of different volatility. The effects of chemical sample modifiers and elements supporting analyte condensation are studied. Most of the analytical measurements were carried out with a continuum source coherent forward scattering multi-element spectrometer. Comparative measurements were also carried out independently in the co-authors' laboratories with atomic absorption and inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry techniques. © 2004 Elsevier B.V.     The system of organ donation in the Orenburg region - prospects for further development

    The article presents the results of the analysis and evaluation of the regional blood transfusion service. It is noted that in the Orenburg region carried out the restructuring of services, created and functioning system for ensuring quality and safety of all phases of the process of procurement, storage and transportation of blood components. The region has successfully implemented a comprehensive program of development of blood transfusion services, including the development of donor movement. Events of this program will stop the process of reducing the number of blood donors, noted in 2011-2012. In addition, the increase in the number of blood donations, which allowed to harvest up to 18 tons of blood components per year.В статье представлены результаты анализа и оценки деятельности региональной службы переливания крови. Отмечено, что в Оренбургской области осуществлена реструктуризация службы, создана и функционирует система обеспечения качества и безопасности всех этапов технологического процесса заготовки, хранения и транспортировки компонентов крови. В регионе успешно реализуется комплексная Программа развития службы переливания крови, включающая развитие донорского движения. Мероприятия данной Программы позволили остановить процесс снижения числа доноров крови, отмеченный в 2011 -2012 годах. Помимо этого увеличилось и число донаций крови, что позволило заготавливать до 18 тонн компонентов крови в год

    SAFETY AND EFFECTIVENESS OF INTRAARTICULAR ADMINISTRATION OF ADIPOSE-DERIVED STROMAL VASCULAR FRACTION FOR TREATMENT OF KNEE ARTICULAR CARTILAGE DEGENERATIVE DAMAGE: PRELIMINARY RESULTS OF A CLINICAL TRIAL

    The incidence of knee osteoarthritis tends to increase every year and constitutes more than 83% of overall OA morbidity. Moreover, the OA morbidity among younger patients is also increasing. However, currently available treatment methods do not provide quite satisfactory outcomes.Purpose of the study – to evaluate safety and efficacy of intraarticular introduction of autologous adipose-derived stromal vascular fraction for treatment of knee osteoarthritis.Material and methods. By the moment of writing the present report, 28 patients were included into the study. All patients underwent tumescent liposuction under local anesthesia. The stromal vascular fraction was isolated from lipoaspirate within 1,5 hours after harvesting and subsequently injected into the articular cavity. Follow-up period was 6 months after injections. The authors report on efficacy data of 10 patients who completed the study according to protocol and safety data of all 28 patients. Efficacy was evaluated basing on laboratory assessments and patient’s subjective assessment by validated questionnaires.Results. Neither adverse reactions no adverse events were observed. Significant decrease of pain severity by VAS was noted in one week after injection and pain score continued decreasing during the whole follow up period. The increase of KOOS score was noted starting on the fifth week after injection. KSS part 1 score increased in 8 weeks, KSS part 2 score — in 6 months after injection. Physical health, assessed with SF-36 questionnaire significantly improved in 2 and 6 months after the procedure. There was a clear trend towards improvement of mental health.Conclusion. Preliminary results of clinical study suggest intraarticular injection of autologous adipose-derived stromal vascular fraction to be a safe and efficient method of the treatment of knee osteoarthritis
