Corporate entrepreneurship champions: mapping the past and present states of the field for future advancements

Purpose The purpose of this study is to critically examine and review the extant research on corporate entrepreneurship champions in the broader area of corporate entrepreneurship and to uncover the avenues for advancement of the scholarship with the purpose of engaging CE champions towards the upliftment of organisations in particular, and younger workforce in general. Design/methodology/approach In this study, authors employ bibliometric analysis through a review of 274 papers fetched from Web of Science and Scopus databases. Findings The authors set the agenda for future research and policy by elucidating research themes and potential research questions by bringing out twelve themes classified into five basic themes, three niche themes, three motor themes, and one key theme, while also providing the methodological inputs for carrying out this agenda. The Real Exchange Rate and Growth in Zimbabwe: Does the Currency Regime Matter?

Zimbabwe faces growth and external competitiveness challenges, as indicated by its low trend growth and investment, declining share in the world exports, high current account deficits, and external debt. The stock-flow approach to the equilibrium exchange rate reveals that the real exchange rate experienced periods of sizeable overvaluation, both prior to the 2008 economic collapse and under the current multicurrency regime. While overvaluation hampers GDP growth, as well as growth and employment in export sectors, we have not found that undervaluation would raise it. Replacing the multicurrency regime anchored in the US$ by the South African rand as the sole transaction currency would help reduce overvaluation and stimulate exports and growth. Under any currency regime, Zimbabwe needs to adhere to sound macroeconomic policies, avoid overspending on public wages, and create environment conducive for investment.http://deepblue.lib.umich.edu/bitstream/2027.42/132981/1/wp1081.pd

Taxation and political stability

The present study is, in particular, an attempt to test the relationship between tax level and political stability by using some economic control variables and to see the relationship among government effectiveness, corruption, and GDP. For the purpose, we used the GMM (1991) and GMM system (1998), using a country-level panel data from 112 countries for the period 1997 to 2010. Cdc42 in osterix-expressing cells alters osteoblast behavior and myeloid lineage commitment

Osteoblasts are not only responsible for bone formation. They also support hematopoiesis. This requires responding to cues originating from several signaling pathways, a task performed by Rho GTPases. We therefore examined several transgenic mouse models and used inhibitors of Cdc42 in vitro. Deletion of Cdc42 in vivo using the Osterix promoter suppressed osteoblast function, while its deletion in differentiating osteoblasts using the Collagen-a1(I) promoter decreased osteoblast numbers. In both cases, bone mineral density diminished confirming the importance of Cdc42. Evaluation of hematopoiesis revealed that deletion of Cdc42 using the Osterix, but not the Collagen-a1(I) promoter increased the common myeloid progenitors (CMPs) in the bone marrow as well as the erythrocytes and the thrombocytes/platelets in peripheral blood. Causality between Cdc42 loss in early osteoblasts and increased myelopoiesis was confirmed in vitro. Work in vitro supported the conclusion that interleukin-4 mediated the increase in myelopoiesis. Thus, Cdc42 is required for healthy bone through regulation of bone formation in Osterix-expressing osteoblasts and the number of osteoblasts in differentiating osteoblasts. In addition, its expression in early osteoblasts/ stromal cells modulates myelopoiesis. This highlights the importance of osteoblasts in regulating hematopoiesis
