    A Utility Proportional Fairness Radio Resource Block Allocation in Cellular Networks

    This paper presents a radio resource block allocation optimization problem for cellular communications systems with users running delay-tolerant and real-time applications, generating elastic and inelastic traffic on the network and being modelled as logarithmic and sigmoidal utilities respectively. The optimization is cast under a utility proportional fairness framework aiming at maximizing the cellular systems utility whilst allocating users the resource blocks with an eye on application quality of service requirements and on the procedural temporal and computational efficiency. Ultimately, the sensitivity of the proposed modus operandi to the resource variations is investigated

    A Utility Proportional Fairness Resource Allocation in Spectrally Radar-Coexistent Cellular Networks

    Spectrum sharing is an elegant solution to addressing the scarcity of the bandwidth for wireless communications systems. This research studies the feasibility of sharing the spectrum between sectorized cellular systems and stationary radars interfering with certain sectors of the communications infrastructure. It also explores allocating optimal resources to mobile devices in order to provide with the quality of service for all running applications whilst growing the communications network spectrally coexistent with the radar systems. The rate allocation problem is formulated as two convex optimizations, where the radar-interfering sector assignments are extracted from the portion of the spectrum non-overlapping with the radar operating frequency. Such a double-stage resource allocation procedure inherits the fairness into the rate allocation scheme by first assigning the spectrally radar-overlapping resources

    Nonsurgical Management of a Large Periapical Lesion: A Case Report

    This case report describes the non-surgical management of a large cyst-like periapical lesion in the mandible of a 16-year-old female with the chief complaint of periodic swelling and pus drainage from the mandibular anterior region gingivae with no history of pain and traumatic accident in this area. Both mandibular central incisors had extensive caries. Root canals of both mandibular central incisors were filled with calcium hydroxide. After 10 days, endodontic therapy was carried out on both teeth. Clinical and radiographic re-evaluations at 3 and 12 months revealed progressing bone healing. This case report shows that appropriate diagnosis in combination with root canal treatment as a conservative non-surgical approach can lead to complete healing of large lesions without invasive treatments.Keywords: Mandibular Incisor; Nonsurgical Endodontic Therapy; Radicular Cys

    A Study on the Quality of Campus Landscape on Students' Attendance at the University Campus

    oai:ojs.pkp.sfu.ca:article/1328Considering the expansion of higher education program in Iran to meet the needs of youth in recent years, there have been many institutes of higher education in closed spaces. This need is balanced now and it is time to highlight the importance of the impact of open spaces on higher education and improving its quality. The purpose of this study is to review landscape designing theories in University of Bojnord and investigating the role of these components in students’ attendance in the university environment. The ultimate goal is to extract and prioritize the desirability factors of the open spaces of campus and the students' attendance at the university. -The findings of the extraction have been analyzed based on the access to landscape design patterns. It is conducted by designing a visual questionnaire based on the components of landscape desirability such as understanding, exploration, compatible with the desire for participation and relaxation and enjoyment of the landscape. The questionnaire was given to 55 Students of University of Bojnord. The statistical population was all students of University of Bojnord. The sampling method was random clustering from the faculties of based on their gender and major. The data was stored, analyzed and processed in SPSS software. Data analysis shows the priority of the main factors of the desirability of open spaces on campus. The landscape desirability of Bojnurd University and students’ attendance at university is low and it requires a serious review of the architectural design of the university landscape
