Diffraction in Charged Current DIS
We present the QCD calculation of the diffractive structure function for
charged current DIS. In particular we analyse the perturbatively tractable
excitation of heavy quarks. We emphasize the peculiarities of the Regge
factorization breaking in excitation of open charm.Comment: 16 pages LateX, 5 eps figures include
The uniqueness problem of dg-lifts and Fourier-Mukai kernels
We address the uniqueness problem of dg-lifts of exact functors between
triangulated categories, and its relationship with the uniqueness problem of
Fourier-Mukai kernels. We prove a positive result under a vanishing hypothesis
on the functors, employing A_infty-categorical techniques.Comment: 22 page
Real applications of quantum imaging
In the last years the possibility of creating and manipulating quantum states
of light has paved the way to the development of new technologies exploiting
peculiar properties of quantum states, as quantum information, quantum
metrology & sensing, quantum imaging ...
In particular Quantum Imaging addresses the possibility of overcoming limits
of classical optics by using quantum resources as entanglement or
sub-poissonian statistics. Albeit quantum imaging is a more recent field than
other quantum technologies, e.g. quantum information, it is now substantially
mature for application. Several different protocols have been proposed, some of
them only theoretically, others with an experimental implementation and a few
of them pointing to a clear application. Here we present a few of the most
mature protocols ranging from ghost imaging to sub shot noise imaging and sub
Rayleigh imaging.Comment: REVIEW PAPE
Quantum Correlations and Quantum Non-Locality: A Review and a Few New Ideas
In this paper we make an extensive description of quantum non-locality, one
of the most intriguing and fascinating facets of quantum mechanics. After a
general presentation of several studies on this subject, we consider if quantum
non-locality, and the friction it carries with special relativity, can
eventually find a "solution" by considering higher dimensional spaces.Comment: 1
On the low x behaviour of nuclear shadowing
We calculate the x dependence of nuclear shadowing at moderate values of Q^2
by using HERA diffractive data and, for consistency, F2 parameterization of
ZEUS. We show that no decrease of shadowing occurs down to very low x (x =
10^-4).Comment: 9 pages, submitted on june for publicatio
Towards Quantum Field Theory in Categorical Quantum Mechanics
In this work, we use tools from non-standard analysis to introduce
infinite-dimensional quantum systems and quantum fields within the framework of
Categorical Quantum Mechanics. We define a dagger compact category *Hilb
suitable for the algebraic manipulation of unbounded operators, Dirac deltas
and plane-waves. We cover in detail the construction of quantum systems for
particles in boxes with periodic boundary conditions, particles on cubic
lattices, and particles in real space. Not quite satisfied with this, we show
how certain non-separable Hilbert spaces can also be modelled in our
non-standard framework, and we explicitly treat the cases of quantum fields on
cubic lattices and quantum fields in real space.Comment: In Proceedings QPL 2017, arXiv:1802.0973
