Coronary Heart Disease (CHD) is still the leading cause of death in the world. So, it is needed to modify risk factor for CHD as preventive measure. Two of fundamental risk factors are blood lipid and body mass index. The aims of this research is to know the relation between HDL-cholesterol and Body Mass Index (BMI) in CHD’s patients. This research is analytic observational with cross-sectional method and held in RSUD Moewardi Surakarta. The research subjects are patients who have general check-up at cardiology lab in RSUD Moewardi which fulfill the inclusion criteria. Result of Pearson’s Test showing a negative (r=-0,0395) and significant (p=0,031) correlation between those two variables. This research concludes that BMI as one of risk factor of CHD is significantly influence changes HDL-cholesterol with negative correlation. Key Word : HDL-cholesterol - Body Mass Index (BMI) - Coronary Heart Disease (CHD

Background: Long-standing knee osteoarthritis also is a common cause of severe bone deficiency (especially proximal tibia). Total knee arthroplasty is indicated in patient with knee osteoarthritis who did not able to perform activity daily living. This study aimed to evaluate the functional knee score of the patient with knee osteoarthritis who performed total knee arthroplasty with screw augmentation.Subjects and Method: This was an analytic observational study conducted at Soeharso Orthopaedic Hospital, Surakarta, Central Java, from January to December 2016. A sample of 30 patients with knee osteoarthritis with tibial defect who performed total knee arthroplasty with screw augmentation was selected for this study. The dependent variable was functional knee score. The independent variable was knee arthroplasty with screw augmentation. Knee function was measured by knee society score. The difference of knee function score between before and after total knee arthroplasty with screw augmentation was analyzed by t test. Results: There were 30 patients (25 females and 5 males) with age between 54 to 73 years old. Mean of knee society score post operative (mean= 82.7; SD= 6.29) was higher than pre operative (mean= 30.5; SD= 6.74) and it was statistically significant (p=0.001).Conclusion: Knee society score after total knee arthroplasty with screw augmentation is higher than before surgery. Keywords: functional knee score, osteoarthritis, screw augmentationCorrespondence: Fajar Baskoro Gardjito, Department of Orthopaedic and Traumatology, Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Sebelas Maret/Dr. Moewardi Hospital/Prof. Dr. R. Background: Magnetic Ressonance Imaging (MRI) is one of modality to diagnosed lumbar spinal stenosis (LSS) however there were some mismatch between the degree of canal stenosis to functional score of LSS. There are some methods to measure the degree of canal stenosis, on of them is Schizas Score. To asses functional score of patients with LSS, there are some tools can be used. Oswesstry Disability Index (ODI) and Neurogenic Claudication Outcome Score (NCOS) are questionnaire commonly used in LSS. This study aimed to analyze the correlation between the degree of stenosis grading using Schizas Score to the degree of disability using ODI score and Neurogenic Claudication using NCOS.Subjects and Method: This was an analytic observational study conducted at Prof. Dr. R. Soeharso Orthopaedic Hospital, Surakarta, Central Java. A sample of 35 patients with LSS in were assessed by filling ODI and NCOS questionnaire, then evaluate the lumbar axial MRI to identify the Schizas Score. The data were analyzed by Spearman test. Results: There was a significant correlation between Schizas Score to ODI score and NCOS. Schizas score increased ODI score (r= 0.91; p<0.001). Schizas score decreased NCOS (r= -0.90; p<0.001).Conclusion: Schizas score is correlated with ODI score and NCOS.Keywords: lumbar spinal stenosis, Schizas score, ODI, NCOSCorrespondence: Arief Indra Perdana Prasetya.
