In contrast to random convolution, the coefficients of the underlying filter are given by the discrete Fourier transform of a deterministic sequence with good autocorrelation. Both uniform recovery and non-uniform recovery of sparse signals are investigated, based on the coherence parameter of the proposed sensing matrices. Many examples of the sequences are investigated, particularly the Frank-Zadoff-Chu (FZC) sequence, the m-sequence and the Golay sequence. A salient feature of the proposed sensing matrices is that they can not only handle sparse signals in the time domain, but also those in the frequency and/or or discrete-cosine transform (DCT) domain

First, we present a dual-lattice view of the vertical Bell Labs Layered Space-Time (V-BLAST) detection. We show that V-BLAST ordering is equivalent to applying sorted QR decomposition to the dual basis, or equivalently, applying sorted Cholesky decomposition to the associated Gram matrix. This new view results in lower detection complexity and allows simultaneous ordering and detection. Second, we propose a partial reduction algorithm that only performs lattice reduction for the last several, weak substreams, whose implementation is also facilitated by the dual-lattice view. By tuning the block size of the partial reduction (hence the complexity), it can achieve a variable diversity order, hence offering a graceful tradeoff between performance and complexity for SIC-based MIMO detection. Numerical results are presented to compare the computational costs and to verify the achieved diversity order

Modulated Unit-Norm Tight Frames for Compressed Sensing

In this paper, we propose a compressed sensing (CS) framework that consists of three parts: a unit-norm tight frame (UTF), a random diagonal matrix and a column-wise orthonormal matrix. We prove that this structure satisfies the restricted isometry property (RIP) with high probability if the number of measurements m=O(slog2slog2n)m = O(s \log^2s \log^2n) for ss-sparse signals of length nn and if the column-wise orthonormal matrix is bounded. Some existing structured sensing models can be studied under this framework, which then gives tighter bounds on the required number of measurements to satisfy the RIP. More importantly, we propose several structured sensing models by appealing to this unified framework, such as a general sensing model with arbitrary/determinisic subsamplers, a fast and efficient block compressed sensing scheme, and structured sensing matrices with deterministic phase modulations, all of which can lead to improvements on practical applications. In particular, one of the constructions is applied to simplify the transceiver design of CS-based channel estimation for orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) systems.Comment: submitted to IEEE Transactions on Signal Processin

The impact of supervisory support and employees' motivation to transfer on the perceptions of training transfer in Melaka's manufacturing companies

The ability to transfer knowledge from training program has became a core issue in organizations. There are many factors that affect the process of knowledge transfer from training. Supervisory support and motivation to transfer are known as factors that influence the effectiveness of trainings. Without supervisory support and motivation to transfer, transfer of training can be hindered. However, there are inadequate and inconsistent findings from past studies on the impact of supervisory support and motivation to transfer training. For instance, past researches on motivation to transfer did not study all dimensions of Vroom’s Expectancy theory, which might affect the validity of their findings. In addition, there is a dearth of research that examines the impact of supervisory support and motivation to transfer simultaneously. Therefore, this study investigated the influence of supervisory support and motivation to transfer on the perceived training transfer. Two hundred and fifty five employees in Melaka’s manufacturing companies were chosen through multi-stage sampling method. This study applied a quantitative approach by using questionnaire to gather the data. Data were analyzed using Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) version 23.0. Descriptive statistics were applied to measure the level of each variables. While, Pearson Correlation was used to ascertain the relationship between the variables. Additionally, Linear Regression analysis was used to evaluate the impact of supervisory support and motivation to transfer onto the perceived training transfer. Findings indicated that supervisory support, motivation to transfer, and perceived training transfer were high among respondents. Findings also showed that supervisory support has moderate relationship with no significant impact onto perceived training transfer. However, motivation to transfer was found to have strong relationship with significant impact onto perceived training transfer. This study showed that motivation to transfer is the major predictor of perceived training transfer. This study provided some theoretical contributions in terms of providing additional dimensions to Vroom’s Expectancy Theory. It is revealed that expectancy is the major dimension that affects perceived training transfer. Vroom’s Expectancy Theory is proven reliable in this study. It is recommended that organizations to adopt this approach to improve employees’ motivations to transfer training by implementing cafeteria-style benefit plans

The significance of the linkage between organizational communication and employees’ performance : a review paper

    Get PDF
In this era, employees‟ performance has been emphasized by organizations. This is because good employees‟ performance could enhance the overall organizational performance. It is crucial to look for the factors or antecedents that could improve employees‟ performance. Organizational communication is known as one of the significant contributors to employees‟ performance. Based on social network theory, it is important to have good interaction through communication in order to improve the performance among employees in an organization. Therefore, the authors aimed to review the linkage between organizational communication and employees‟ performance. However, the findings from previous studies failed to provide consistency on the linkage between the variables. The failure of providing consistency for the linkage between the variables has created an awareness to researchers for further investigation. Future researchers are suggested to conduct more studies in future in order to provide consistency of findings on the linkage between organizational communication and employees‟ performance

There are limited literatures that discussed on the trend of OCB. Hence, this bibliometric analysis is aimed to evaluate the global research growth to retrieve and analyse the publication on OCB. The bibliometric analysis is used to search the database of Scopus from the oldest publication in 1988 to the recent publication in 2019. The objectives were to evaluate the output of publications, co-authorship, leading countries and institutions, top authors, and co-occurrences of author keywords. This study used VOS Viewer 1.6.11 to analyse and visualise the global research trend on OCB in analysing the bibliographic data. Bibliometric maps were retrieved from VOS Viewer 1.6.11. This study retrieved 2, 356 journal articles from Scopus database from 1988 to 2019. The publication’s trend revealed that the number of publications has been increasing steadily since 2002. The leading countries in OCB research are the United States and China. Among the fifteen leading universities, five of them were from the world’s top 150 universities. Among the keywords, ‘commitment’ has the most link with OCB, which indicated that OCB is active in the management field compared to other fields such as nursing and psychology. This paper can be beneficial for academicians, organisations, and business policymakers in understanding the global trend of OCB besides discovering the future directions and opportunities for future studies. &nbsp
