In our study 45 patients with different focal liver lesions (110 nodules) were examined using high field MR-system (1,5Β T). During this investigation quantitative MRI analysis of dynamic enhancement of various hepatic lesions and parenchymatous organs of abdomen were performed. 126 patients with histological diagnosis of Hodgkin and non-Hodgkin lymphoma were examined using combined positronemission and computed tomography with radiotracer 18F-deoxyglucose. For staging Ann Arbor classification (1971) with Costwolds modification (1989) was used. The combined positron-emission and computed tomography pattern of Hodgkin and non-Hodgkin lymphoma was established. Morphofunctional characteristics of lymphoma were determined in cases of lymph node, spleen, liver, kidneys, bones and lung lesion. 99mTc-MIBI Brain SPECT results of 79 patients with glial brain tumors are presented in the issue. 283 patients with gliomas were included in this study. Age, sex, neurological status and Karnovsky performance were analyzed before and after surgery, also tumor location, type and volume of surgical resection, postoperative complications were considered. Volume of tumor resection did not depend on glioma localization, excluding deep located tumors, in which case stereotactic cryotomy was performed (p < 0,01). In cases of stereotactic cryotomy postoperative neurological deficit worsening was noted in 12,5%, in patients with open biopsy and partial resection β 10,9%, and in case of total or subtotal tumor resection in 7,0% (p > 0,05). Partial gliom resection often related with postoperative complications and neurological deficit worsening then open surgery total tumour resection. Quantitative MRI analysis of dynamic enhancement of focal liver lesions
In our study 45 patients with different focal liver lesions (110 nodules) were examined using high field MR-system (1,5Β T). During this investigation quantitative MRI analysis of dynamic enhancement of various hepatic lesions and parenchymatous organs of abdomen were performed. It was shown that quantitative evaluation of enhanced MRI improves understanding of vascular transformation processes in pathologic hepatic focuses and in liver itself that is important for differential diagnoses of these diseases
Malignant transformation of endometriosis: pearls and pitfalls at magnetic resonance imaging
The article analyzes magnetic resonance images of the 117 patients with endometrioid ovarian cysts including 12 patients with ovarian cancer raised from endometrioid cysts. Such symptoms as vascularized solid component formation, cyst enlargement and T2-shading regression showed strong correlation with malignant transformation of endometrioid cyst. The solid component within the cyst needs to be differentiated between malignant tumor growth, decidualization and inflammatory tissue. Magnetic resonance imaging is a powerful non-invasive method of malignant transformation of the endometrioid ovarian cysts
Determination of Hodgkin and non-Hodgkin lymphoma stage with combined positron-emission and computed tomography
126 patients with histological diagnosis of Hodgkin and non-Hodgkin lymphoma were examined using combined positronemission and computed tomography with radiotracer 18F-deoxyglucose. For staging Ann Arbor classification (1971) with Costwolds modification (1989) was used. The combined positron-emission and computed tomography pattern of Hodgkin and non-Hodgkin lymphoma was established. Morphofunctional characteristics of lymphoma were determined in cases of lymph node, spleen, liver, kidneys, bones and lung lesion. Using combined positron-emission and computed tomography it can provide more accuracy in staging of Hodgkin and non-Hodgkin lymphoma
