THE IMPACT EVALUATION OF INTERNATIONAL ETHNIC TIES ON INDUSTRIAL COMPANIES’ OPPORTUNITY EXPLOITATION WHEN ENTERING FOREIGN MARKETS

    Get PDF
The effect of international ethnic communities on international opportunity exploitation of Wenzhou industrial SMEs is examined. The following hypotheses are tested: the hypothesis on the connection between international ethnic ties and international opportunity exploitation; the hypothesis on the mitigation of “liability of foreignness” effects through the international ethnic ties; and finally, the hypothesis of the impact on export barriers. Results of the empirical study, in general, support the derived hypotheses

Artistic creativity of martiros saryan as the indicator of national self-identification of the personality in a multicultural space: features of methodology of a retrospective research

In this article, the life and works of the famous Armenian artist, founder of the modern Armenian school of painting Martiros Saryan (1880-1972) are analyzed in the context of the influence of Russian and Armenian culture during the Russian period of his activity. In this retrospective analysis of the life and works of the artist, it is proposed to use the new indicator, which is Russian or the Middle East countries place names being included in the titles of works by the artist. On the basis of the analysis of Russian archival sources and the analytical research of content, it is established that, in Russia, the interest of the artist during the first period of his life and study was mainly on subjects reflecting the life of the Armenian diaspora in the south of Russia. Landscapes were mainly represented against the background in which the artist spent his childhood. During the time which he spent in Moscow, interest in Russian culture was connected with the recognition of the contribution of teachers of the School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture in the development of the Russian art school and world culture. Saryan has shown the aspiration to seize this particular technic of painting, at the same time he had the original vision of the world. Keywords: methodology, personality, geographical indicators, Martiros Saryan, culture, regional archiv

Proton induced reactions on 114Sn and 120Sn targets at energies up to 18 MeV

We measure cross sections of proton-induced reactions on tin up to energies of 18 MeV using the stacked-foil activation technique, and report first experimental values for 114Sn(p,{\alpha})111In, {^{120}}Sn(p,{\alpha})117gIn, and 114Sn(p,x)113Sn reactions. Measured cross sections have been compared to existing experimental values and numerical calculations based on Talys1.95. Our data are in good agreement with all previous experiments, and also with Talys1.95 results except for 120Sn(p,{\alpha})117m,gIn reactions where the numerical calculations are shifted to higher energies. We also measure isomeric cross section ratios for 117m,gIn and 120m,gSb pairs as functions of the incident proton energy.Comment: 21 pages, 9 figures, 3 table

    Optimal refrigerator

We study a refrigerator model which consists of two nn-level systems interacting via a pulsed external field. Each system couples to its own thermal bath at temperatures ThT_h and TcT_c, respectively (θTc/Th<1\theta\equiv T_c/T_h<1). The refrigerator functions in two steps: thermally isolated interaction between the systems driven by the external field and isothermal relaxation back to equilibrium. There is a complementarity between the power of heat transfer from the cold bath and the efficiency: the latter nullifies when the former is maximized and {\it vice versa}. A reasonable compromise is achieved by optimizing the product of the heat-power and efficiency over the Hamiltonian of the two system. The efficiency is then found to be bounded from below by ζCA=11θ1\zeta_{\rm CA}=\frac{1}{\sqrt{1-\theta}}-1 (an analogue of the Curzon-Ahlborn efficiency), besides being bound from above by the Carnot efficiency ζC=11θ1\zeta_{\rm C} = \frac{1}{1-\theta}-1. The lower bound is reached in the equilibrium limit θ1\theta\to 1. The Carnot bound is reached (for a finite power and a finite amount of heat transferred per cycle) for lnn1\ln n\gg 1. If the above maximization is constrained by assuming homogeneous energy spectra for both systems, the efficiency is bounded from above by ζCA\zeta_{\rm CA} and converges to it for n1n\gg 1.Comment: 12 pages, 3 figure

Magnetic and quantum entanglement properties of the distorted diamond chain model for azurite

We present the results of magnetic properties and entanglement of the distorted diamond chain model for azurite using pure quantum exchange interactions. The magnetic properties and concurrence as a measure of pairwise thermal entanglement have been studied by means of variational mean-field like treatment based on Gibbs-Bogoliubov inequality. Such a system can be considered as an approximation of the natural material azurite, Cu3(CO3)2(OH)2. For values of exchange parameters, which are taken from experimental results, we study the thermodynamic properties, such as azurite specific heat and magnetic susceptibility. We also have studied the thermal entanglement properties and magnetization plateau of the distorted diamond chain model for azurite

Armenian national grapevine collection: Conservation, characterization and prospects

    Get PDF
The general strategy for grapevine genetic resources conservation in Armenia encompasses the collection of the still existing diversity and the use of protection techniques to minimize the losses over time. Being studied mainly by ampelography, the genetic diversity of Armenian grapevine needs to be re-investigated in accordance with modern requirements and international scales. The purpose of the presented research was the first large-scale molecular characterization of Armenian grape varieties by molecular methods using a set of 24 simple sequence repeat (SSR) markers encompassing the nine SSR markers recommended by the European project GrapeGen06. The obtained results indicate the uniqueness of the major part of the investigated varieties and reveal a substantial level of genetic variation within the Armenian grapevine. Based on the realized large-scale investigation a true-to-type inventory of Armenian grape germplasm will be realized and documented in theVitis International Variety Catalogue and in the European Vitisdatabase. The next step having strategic importance in terms of conservation of grape genetic resources in Armenia will be establishment of the first ArmenianVitis database with multi-crop passport description of all varieties preserved in grape collection
