VECTORS: Video communication through opportunistic relays and scalable video coding
Crowd-sourced video distribution is frequently of interest in the local
vicinity. In this paper, we propose a novel design to transfer such content
over opportunistic networks with adaptive quality encoding to achieve
reasonable delay bounds. The video segments are transmitted between source and
destination in a delay tolerant manner using the Nearby Connections Android
library. This implementation can be applied to multiple domains, including farm
monitoring, wildlife, and environmental tracking, disaster response scenarios,
etc. In this work, we present the design of an opportunistic contact based
system, and we discuss basic results for the trial runs within our institute.Comment: 13 pages, 6 figures, and under 3000 words for submission to the

The Verdaland Rissa Landslides — Application of Case Histories in Education
Trøndelag is a region in Mid-Norway with large deposits of quick and sensitive clays. Accordingly, the quick clay sliding activity in the region is rather high. The two best known cases are presented in this paper, the Verdal and the Rissa landslides. These slides have had a significant impact on the teaching and research at the Norwegian University of Technology and Science (NTNU) and on how the communities and authorities relate to risk of new slides. The Geotechnical Group at NTNU has been working extensively with quick clay behaviour through decades, particularly on understanding the progressive failure mechanism and modelling of it, in the latest years through finite element analyses. The paper presents these two specific cases, the Verdal and the Rissa quick clay slides, and how these have contributed to the research work and education at the Geotechnical Group at NTNU. Focus will be on development of thesis work on the soil conditions and slope stability in the Verdal valley and on thesis on quick clay behaviour and failure mechanisms in particular
Bio-based sustainable aerogels: New sensation in CO2 capture
Bio-based aerogels with customizable porosities and functionalities constitute significant
potential for CO2 capture. Developing bio-based aerogels from different polysaccharides and proteins is a safe, economical, and environmentally sustainable approach. Polysaccharides are biodegradable, sustainable, renewable, and plentiful in nature. Because of these advantages, the use of bio-based aerogels with porosity and amine functionality has attracted considerable interest. In this review we have discussed the recent development in the synthesis of bio-based aerogels and their application in CO2 capture
Clustering Based Classification and Analysis of Data
This paper presents Clustering Based Document classification and analysis of data. The proposed Clustering Based classification and analysis of data approach is based on Unsupervised and Supervised Document Classification. In this paper Unsupervised Document and Supervised Document Classification are used. In this approach Document collection, Text Preprocessing, Feature Selection, Indexing, Clustering Process and Results Analysis steps are used. Twenty News group data sets [20] are used in the Experiments. For experimental results analysis evaluated using the Analytical SAS 9.0 Software is used. The Experimental Results show the proposed approach out performs
Analysis of Social Networking Sites Using K- Mean Clustering Algorithm
Clustering is one of the very important technique used for classification of large dataset and widely applied to many applications including analysis of social networking sites, aircraft accidental, company performance etc. In recent days, Communication, advertising through social networking sites are most popular and interactive strategy among the users. This research attempts to find the large scale measurement study and analysis, effectiveness of communication strategy, analyzing the information about the usage, people’s interest in social network sites in promoting and advertising their brand in social networking sites. The significance of the proposed work is determined with the help of various surveys, and from people who use these sites. Further a more specific pre-processing method is applied to clean data and perform the clustering method to generate patterns that will be work as heuristics for designing more effective social networking sites
Tracing the Pathway from Drift-Wave Turbulence with Broken Symmetry to the Generation of Sheared Axial Mean Flow
This study traces the emergence of sheared axial flow from collisional drift
wave turbulence with broken symmetry in a linear plasma device---CSDX. As the
density profile steepens, the axial Reynolds stress develops and drives a
radially sheared axial flow that is parallel to the magnetic field. Results
show that the non-diffusive piece of the Reynolds stress is driven by the
density gradient and results from the spectral asymmetry of the turbulence and
thus is dynamical in origin. Taken together, these findings constitute the
first simultaneous demonstration of the causal link between the density
gradient, turbulence and stress with broken spectral symmetry, and the mean
axial flow
