In this paper we have constructed a five-dimensional string cosmological model in Barber\u27s (1982) second self-creation theory of gravitation. When the coupling constant becomes zero, the model degenerates into two different string cosmological models in Einstein\u27s theory corresponding to variable G and constant G. Some physical and geometrical properties of the model are discussed.U ovom smo radu razvili peterodimenzijski kozmološki model struna u okviru druge Barberove samotvorne teorije gravitacije.

In this paper we made an attempt to construct a five-dimensional FRW stiff fluid cosmological model in Lyra manifold. This model reduces to curvature-free (k=0) expanding stiff fluid cosmological model. Some physical and geometrical properties of the model are discussed.

EFFICACY OF AYURVEDA FORMULATIONS AND BASTI CHIKITSA ON MUTRAGHATA W.S.R. TO BENIGN PROSTATIC HYPERPLASIA: A REVIEW ON RESEARCHES CONDUCTED AT GUJARAT AYURVED UNIVERSITY, JAMNAGAR

Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH) is major geriatric problem of obstructive uropathic disorders described in Ayurveda classic as one type of Mutraghata (urinary disorders). Twelve types of Mutraghata reflect the symptoms of retention, incomplete voiding, dribbling, hesitancy, incontinence of urine, etc. These are basically presented the features related to the Lower Urinary Tract Symptoms (LUTS) and can be co-related with Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH) in modern parlance. BPH is a non-malignant enlargement of the prostate gland, caused by the excessive growth of prostatic nodules. The overall incidence rate of BPH is about 15 per 1000 men per year. The conservative treatments have been mentioned to relieve the obstructive uropathy by reducing prostate size and enhancing the tone of urinary bladder musculature in contemporary medical science. Similarly in Ayurveda also, various researches are going on to find out a suitable treatment option to manage Mutraghata. In the Sushruta Samhita the choice of treatment for Mutraghata is Uttara Basti as Shodhan Chikitsa. In this review, in most of the studies Matra Basti was given in one group of patients and showed the encouraging results. This review article is attributed to the researches on Mutraghata carried out at I.P.G.T. & R.A., Gujarat Ayurved University, Jamnagar, Gujarat

Violation of supersymmetric equivalence in R parity violating couplings

    Get PDF
In this paper we consider the violation of supersymmetric equvalence among the R parity violating couplings lamabdaijklamabda_{ijk} caused by widely split chiral supermultiplets. We find that if λ2jk=g\lambda^{\prime}_{2jk}=g and λ1jk=e\lambda^{\prime}_{1jk}=e then the violation of SUSY equivalence is of the order of 565-6% in heavy SQCD models. On the other hand if λ3jk=g\lambda^{\prime}_{3jk}=g and λijk=e\lambda_{ijk}=e then the violation of SUSY equivalence can be as large as 9.4% in 2-1 models.Comment: Plain Tex, 7 pages, no figure

Radion effects on unitarity in gauge-boson scattering

The scalar field associated with fluctuations in the positions of the two branes, the ``radion'', plays an important role determining the cosmology and collider phenomenology of the Randall-Sundrum solution to the hierarchy problem. It is now well known that the radion mass is of order the weak scale, and that its couplings to standard model fields are order 1/TeV to the trace of the energy momentum tensor. We calculate longitudinal vector boson scattering amplitudes to explore the constraints on the radion mass and its coupling from perturbative unitarity. The scattering cross section can indeed become non-perturbative at energies prior to reaching the TeV brane cutoff scale, but only when some curvature-Higgs mixing on the TeV brane is present. We show that the coefficient of the curvature-Higgs mixing operator must be less than about 3 for the 4-d effective theory to respect perturbative unitarity up to the TeV brane cutoff scale. Mass bounds on the Higgs boson and the radion are also discussed.Comment: 17 pages, LaTeX, 5 eps figures, uses epsf.sty and axodraw.st

Operator algebra quantum homogeneous spaces of universal gauge groups

In this paper, we quantize universal gauge groups such as SU(\infty), as well as their homogeneous spaces, in the sigma-C*-algebra setting. More precisely, we propose concise definitions of sigma-C*-quantum groups and sigma-C*-quantum homogeneous spaces and explain these concepts here. At the same time, we put these definitions in the mathematical context of countably compactly generated spaces as well as C*-compact quantum groups and homogeneous spaces. We also study the representable K-theory of these spaces and compute it for the quantum homogeneous spaces associated to the universal gauge group SU(\infty).Comment: 14 pages. Radion effects on the production of an intermediate-mass scalar and Z at LEP II

We have studied the e+eZϕiZjje^+ e^- \to Z \phi_i \to Z jj process, where ϕi\phi_i is the Higgs and/or radion bosons. The implications of the radion effects on the preliminary ALEPH data are also discussed. The case of the lighter radion than Higgs boson is disfavored by the ALEPH analyses of the bb tagged four-jet data, since the radion predominantly decays into two gluon jets due to the QCD trace anomaly. If the radion is highly degenerate in mass with the Higgs, the cross section can be increased more than at one sigma level, with natural scale of the vacuum expectation value of the radion.Comment: 10 pages, 1 Postscript figure, final version to appear in PR

Unitarity constraints on the stabilized Randall-Sundrum scenario

    Get PDF
Recently proposed stabilization mechanism of the Randall-Sundrum metric gives rise to a scalar radion, which couples universally to matter with a weak interaction (1\simeq 1 TeV) scale. Demanding that gauge boson scattering as described by the effective low enerrgy theory be unitary upto a given scale leads to significant constraints on the mass of such a radion.Comment: 10 page Latex 2e file including 4 postscript figures.
