Current state of development of Eurocomprehension research
"Eurocomprehension" is the term used to describe European intercomprehension in Europeâs three major language families, the Romance, the Slavic and the Germanic. The aim of eurocomprehension is to achieve multilingualism conforming to EU lanÂguage policy goals through the entry-point of receptive competence in a modular structure. Linguistic intercomprehension research forms the transfer bases for the cognitive use of relations between the language groups which didactics of multiÂlingualism implement. ..
Conics in normed planes
We study the generalized analogues of conics for normed planes by using the
following natural approach: It is well known that there are different metrical
definitions of conics in the Euclidean plane. We investigate how these
definitions extend to normed planes, and we show that in this more general
framework these different definitions yield, in almost all cases, different
classes of curves.Comment: 12 pages, 8 figure
Reply to Comment on "Critical analysis of a variational method used to describe molecular electron transport"
We show that the failure of the Delaney-Greer (DG) variational ansatz for
transport demonstrated by us in Phys.\ Rev.\ B {\bf 80}, 165301 (2009) (I) is
not related to an unsuitable constraint that prevents a broken time-reversal
symmetry or to real orbitals, as DG incorrectly claim. The complex orbitals
suggested by them as a way-out solution merely represent a particular case of
the general case considered by us in I, which do not in the least affect our
conclusion.Comment: Manuscript as submitted to Phys. Rev. B on 30 November 2010. Sections
VII, VIII, and IX present significant details, which enlarge the analysis of

Occupational Therapy Approach in a Childrenâs Ministry Outreach Program
The 16-week capstone project took place in the childrenâs ministry department of the Dream Center of Lakeland, a community center based in Lakeland, Florida. The Dream Center is a faith-based organization that carries out its mission through providing resources and services to the local community such as a food and clothes pantries, womenâs health clinic, meal programs, accessible computer lab, and mentorship groups. Specifically, the current capstone project focused on the youth served by the Dream Centerâs childrenâs outreach program, KIDS CLUB. The children served by this program come from low socioeconomic status (SES) backgrounds and range in age from kindergarten through fifth grade. The focus areas for the capstone project were program development and education. The program development focus area involved the creation of developmentally appropriate curriculum and group activities related to occupation-based and sensory-based needs of the youth. The education focus area included the provision of resources and education to volunteers on effective behavior management and TIC strategies when working with the children in the outreach program. This capstone project serves as an example of how a consulting occupational therapist can identify a need within a faith-based community center and apply clinical reasoning to provide targeted intervention at a community level to children from low SES backgrounds
