Unit commitment with transmission constraints in deregulated power market

Get PDF
As the power industry across the world is undergoing a radical change by separation of transmission from generation activities, scope of competition by bidding or through provision of bilateral transactions in spot markets exists between different market players of generation and transmission. So there is a need for the unit commitment in power industry with generation biddings, load biddings and bilateral transaction biddings. In general unit commitment can be formulated as nonlinear, large scale, mixed integer combinatorial optimization problem. For quick response, piece-wise linearization of cost function, slack terms with high penalty factor are incorporated in unit commitment along with all generator, system, operator and line constraints. Then unit commitment with three-part generator bidding, load bidding and bilateral transaction with both elastic and inelastic parts is performed which is suitable for the recent deregulated power industry and tested on a test case of ten generators with three bus network

The crystal structure of ferroelastic Rb4Li(HSO4)3(SO4) has been determined at two temperatures, which indicates a structural phase transition, tetragonal P43 with a = 7.629(1) Å,c = 29.497(2) Å at 293 K and monoclinic P21 witha = 7.583(3) Å,b = 29.230(19) Å,c = 7.536(5) Å,β = 90.14(1)° at 90 K. The crystal structure of K4Li(HSO4)3(SO4)4 has also been determined at two temperatures, tetragonalP41 witha = 7.405(1) Å,c = 28.712(6) Å at 293 K and tetragonalP41 with a = 7.371(5) Å,c = 28.522(5) Å at 100 K. The overall coordination features in both the structures have been analysed in terms of bond valence sum calculations

Ab initio structure determination via powder X-ray diffraction

Get PDF
Structure determination by powder X-ray diffraction data has gone through a recent surge since it has become important to get to the structural information of materials which do not yield good quality single crystals. Although the method of structure completion when once the starting model is provided is facile through the Rietveld refinement technique, the structure solutionab initio is still not push-button technology. In this article a survey of the recent development in this area is provided with an illustration of the structure determination of α-NaBi3V2O10

In recent period of time security of the transmitted data is most critical problem, as network technology is greatly advanced and heaps of information is transmitted via net. Visual cryptography strategy is one of the most secure technique for privacy auspices, that allow the encryption of secret image or data by transferring it into the secure percentage and such a strategy is able to recover the secret image or data. This behavior makes visual cryptography especially useful for the low computation load requirement. In this paper, we are providing the information regarding information security by using Visual Cryptography scheme by making use of exclusive new technique of splitting of images along with their pixels rotation with the help of generated random number. We also have made an attempt to overcome some of the disadvantages of preexisting techniques of encryption and decryption. Finally, successful transmission of the message from transmitting end to receiving end without any interception was done. Most importantly, it is very difficult to hack by use of any professional hacking techniques as the message is encrypted twice. Hence the data is highly secured under transmission pat

On the Lovász theta function for independent sets in sparse graphs

We consider the maximum independent set problem on sparse graphs with maximum degree d. We show that the Lovász ϑ-function based semidefinite program (SDP) has an integrality gap of O(d/log3/2 d), improving on the previous best result of O(d/log d). This improvement is based on a new Ramsey-theoretic bound on the independence number of Kr-free graphs for large values of r. We also show that for stronger SDPs, namely, those obtained using polylog(d) levels of the SA+ semidefinite hierarchy, the integrality gap reduces to O(d/log2 d). This matches the best unique-games-based hardness result up to lower-order poly(log log d) factors. Finally, we give an algorithmic version of this SA+-based integrality gap result, albeit using d levels of SA+, via a coloring algorithm of Johansson

Background: Tuberculosis is a chronic infectious disease caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis. It is one of the leading causes of mortality and morbidity around the world. The aim of this study to identify and document the drug related problems in tuberculosis patients under anti-tubercular treatment (ATT) in an attempt to promote adherence, reduce the drug related problems and improve success rate in TB treatment. The main objective of the study to identify the drug related problems in tuberculosis patients on ATT and second objective measure the medication adherence and counsel patients to improve medication adherence. Methods: A prospective observational study was conducted in Raja Muthiah Medical College Hospital for 6 months from November 2018 to April 2019. The study was approved by Institutional Human Ethics Committee (IHEC).Results: Total 101 drug related problems have been identified in 70 patients using pharmaceutical care network of Europe classification. Drug interactions 41.58% was the most common drug related problems found, which was clinically significant in tuberculosis patients with co- morbidities. Insufficient awareness of health and disease 21.75% was the second most common drug related problems found, 16.83% drug choice problems found. Nearly 64% of the enrolled patients were found to be non-adherence during pre-patient counselling. After the patient counselling the adherent rate was improved 74%.Conclusions: The study concludes that pharmacist provided patient counselling found to have significant influence on improvement in the patient’s knowledge towards their disease and medication, and adherence to prescribed therapy which helps to improve the clinical outcome of TB patients

AbstractMachining is the most important of the manufacturing processes which involves the process of removing material from a work piece in the form of chips. Machining is necessary where tight tolerances on dimensions and finishes are required. Generally a machining process involves a large number of variables that affect its performance. Some of them are cutting parameters, geometry of cutting tool, coolant conditions, properties of tool material, properties of work piece, machine capabilities, etc. Among them, cutting parameters have profound effect on all kinds of performances when the same tool material and the same work piece material are used for machining. Therefore cutting parameters of speed, feed and depth of cut are considered as the process control variables and two important performance measures of CNC turning, namely, Metal Removal Rate (MRR) and Tool wear (TW) are considered for investigation. This paper presents the experimental investigations on the effects of cutting variables like Spindle speed, Feed and Depth of cut on the Material removal rate and tool wear. The experiments were conducted on AISI S2 tool steel grade on a CNC turning machine using carbide insert. The experiments were conducted as per the design of experiments. Initial trial experiments were conducted to fix the ranges for the control parameters. After conducting the experiments the MRR and Tool wear were measured and recorded. The effects were studied after plotting the graphs between the Input process parameters versus the responses using Design expert software. The results obtained in this study can by further used for optimizing the process parameters there by the optimized results help the operator to enhance the quality as well as machining rate
