Infrared Consistency of NSVZ and DRED Supersymmetric Gluodynamics
Pade approximant methods are applied to known terms of the DRED beta-
function for N = 1 supersymmetric SU(3) Yang-Mills theory. Each of the [N|M]
approximants with N + M less than or equal to 4 (M not equal to zero)
constructed from this series exhibits a positive pole which precedes any zeros
of the approximant, consistent with the same infrared-attractor pole behaviour
known to characterise the exact NSVZ beta-function. A similar Pade-approximant
analysis of truncations of the NSVZ series is shown consistently to reproduce
the geometric-series pole of the exact NSVZ beta function.Comment: LaTeX, 15 page

Radiocarbon dates from the Oxford AMS system: archaeometry datelist 35
This is the 35th list of AMS radiocarbon determinations measured at the Oxford Radiocarbon Accelerator Unit (ORAU). Amongst some of the sites included here are the latest series of determinations from the key sites of Abydos, El Mirón, Ban Chiang, Grotte de Pigeons (Taforalt), Alepotrypa and Oberkassel, as well as others dating to the Palaeolithic, Mesolithic and later periods. Comments on the significance of the results are provided by the submitters of the material
Seeking for toroidal event horizons from initially stationary BH configurations
We construct and evolve non-rotating vacuum initial data with a ring
singularity, based on a simple extension of the standard Brill-Lindquist
multiple black-hole initial data, and search for event horizons with spatial
slices that are toroidal when the ring radius is sufficiently large. While
evolutions of the ring singularity are not numerically feasible for large
radii, we find some evidence, based on configurations of multiple BHs arranged
in a ring, that this configuration leads to singular limit where the horizon
width has zero size, possibly indicating the presence of a naked singularity,
when the radius of the ring is sufficiently large. This is in agreement with
previous studies that have found that there is no apparent horizon surrounding
the ring singularity when the ring's radius is larger than about twice its

Modeling Gravitational Recoil Using Numerical Relativity
We review the developments in modeling gravitational recoil from merging
black-hole binaries and introduce a new set of 20 simulations to test our
previously proposed empirical formula for the recoil. The configurations are
chosen to represent generic binaries with unequal masses and precessing spins.
Results of these simulations indicate that the recoil formula is accurate to
within a few km/s in the similar mass-ratio regime for the out-of-plane recoil.Comment: corrections to text, 11 pages, 1 figur
On a generalization of Jacobi's elliptic functions and the Double Sine-Gordon kink chain
A generalization of Jacobi's elliptic functions is introduced as inversions
of hyperelliptic integrals. We discuss the special properties of these
functions, present addition theorems and give a list of indefinite integrals.
As a physical application we show that periodic kink solutions (kink chains) of
the double sine-Gordon model can be described in a canonical form in terms of
