Atatürk Baraj Gölü’nde Yaşayan Aynalı Sazan (Cyprinus carpio Linnaeus, 1758)’ın Bazı Populasyon Parametreleri

Bu çalışma, Nisan 2011-Mart 2012 tarihleri arasında Atatürk Baraj Gölü’nde gerçekleştirilmiştir. Çalışmada toplam 231 adet (125 erkek,106 dişi) Cyprinus carpio L.1758 örneği incelenmiştir. Örneklerin I-X yaş grupları arasında dağılım gösterdiği ve dişi/erkek oranının 1:1.18olduğu belirlenmiştir. Total boy değerlerinin erkek bireylerde 13,50-59,20 cm ve dişi bireylerde 14,6-59,30cm; ağırlık değerlerinin erkeklerde 53,20-4662,50 g ve dişilerde 56,40-4668 g; kondisyon faktörü  değerlerinin  erkekler için 1,182-4,175, dişiler için 1,251-3,514 arasında değiştiği saptanmıştır. Boy-ağırlık ilişkisi erkeklerde W=0,0346*TL2,807 (R2=0,95), dişilerde W=0,0246*TL2,8922 (R2=0,96) ve populasyon genelinde W=0,0295*TL2,8472(R2=0,95) olarak tespit edilmiştir. von Bertalanffy büyüme denklem parametreleri tüm populasyon için L∞=111,01, K=0,06, t0=-1,48, W∞=19746,57 ve doğal ölüm oranı (M) 0,1531 olarak belirlenmiştir. Her eşey için en yüksek ortalama Gonadosomatik indeks değerleri nisan ayında olduğu tahmin edildi. Tüm bireylerde yumurta çapı değerleri 0.60-1,33 mm arasında değişirken, en yüksek ortalama değer nisan ayında bulundu (1,27 mm). Üreme peryodu Nisan-Temmuz ayları arasında belirlendi. Fekundite  değerleri 13468 – 885762 arasındadır. İlk Olgunlaşma erkeklerde  III ( Total boy 30,848) yaş grubunda, dişilerde IV  yaş grubunda ( total boy 32,099) belirlendi

Acinar Cystic Transformation of the Pancreas: Report of Three Cases

Acinar cystic transformation (ACT) of the pancreas is a rare non-neoplastic cystic lesion. It is most frequently observed in the head of the pancreas. Despite advances in radiologic imaging methods, preoperative diagnosis of acinar cystic transformation is difficult, it is often confused with other cystic lesions. Here, we report three cases of acinar cystic transformation, one of which showed diffuse involvement of the pancreas, and the remaining two were multilocular localized cystic lesions. We analyzed their histomorphologic and immunohistochemical features. The patients' ages ranged between 15 and 43 years and the ratio of females to males was 2:1. On microscopic examination, the cysts were lined by a single layer of flattened-cuboidal or columnar epithelial cells. The epithelial cells were diffusely positive with trypsin and keratin 7, but patchy with keratin 19. Due to its rarity and lack of radiologic and clinical awareness compared with other pancreatic cystic lesions, preoperative diagnosis of acinar cystic transformation is difficult and not definitive. All cases reported to date have been clinically benign and there is no evidence of recurrence or malignant transformation. The optimal treatment and whether to perform surgery remain controversial

Discovery of a Short Period Pulsator from Istanbul University Observatory

We report the discovery of a new short period pulsating variable in the field of exoplanet host star XO-2. Variable has been identified while it was being used as a comparison. In order to verify the variability of the candidate, a comprehensive follow-up was carried out.
