Analizowano osad czynny z przyzak艂adowej oczyszczalni przemys艂owej z okolic Krakowa. Zdj臋cia oraz analiz臋 parametr贸w geometrycznych i kszta艂tu wykonano przy u偶yciu aparatu Morphologi G3. Badany osad poddawany by艂 r贸偶nym okresom mieszania (napowietrzania): 1,5 h lub 3,5 h.Activated sludge taken from the wastewater treatment plant situated in Cracow vicinity was chosen as material tested. Pictures and analysis of geometrical and shape parameters were made using the Morphologi G3 device. The sludge tested was subjected to mixing for 1.5 and 3.5 hrs

Analizowany materia艂 stanowi艂 zdj臋cia nad藕wi臋kowionego osadu czynnego, pochodz膮ce z oczyszczalni 艣ciek贸w w Olkuszu. Do obr贸bki zdj臋膰 u偶yto specjalistycznych oprogramowa艅: Fraclalyse - do analizy fraktalnej oraz programu ImageJ do analizy parametr贸w geometrycznych. W celu dok艂adniejszego zilustrowania zmian zachodz膮cych w nad偶wi臋kowionym osadzie, pos艂u偶ono si臋 dodatkowo parametrami kszta艂tu.Analyzed materials were images of sonicated activated sludge, from wastewater treatment plants in Olkusz. The image processing specialized software was: Fractalyse - for fractal analysis and ImageJ for the analysis of geometrical parameters. In order to illustrate more accurately the changes in sonicated sediment shape parameters were used

Opisano procedur臋 badania tiksotropii osad贸w 艣ciekowych polegaj膮c膮 na wyznaczeniu warto艣ci pola powierzchni histerezy (mi臋dzy g贸rn膮 i doln膮 krzyw膮 p艂yni臋cia), kt贸ra jest miar膮 wielko艣ci tiksotropii osad贸w o r贸偶nej zawarto艣ci suchej masy. Przedstawiono przyk艂adow膮 analiz臋 reologiczn膮 osad贸w biologicznych z oczyszczalni z okolic Krakowa o st臋偶eniach suchej masy (SMO) 34 kg/m3 i 60 kg/m3. Pola powierzchni wewn膮trz p臋tli histerezy wynios艂y odpowiednio 2179 Pa/s oraz 3143 Pa/s.A procedure for testing biological sludge thixotropy based on the determination of hysteresis area (the upper and lower flow curve), which is a measure of thixotropy of sludge with varying dry matter content is described. The rheological analysis of biological sludge samples taken from wastewater treatment plant situated near Cracow with 34 kg/m3 and 60 kg/m3 concentrations of dry matter (SMO) is presented. The surface areas within the hysteresis loop amounted to 2179 Pa/s and 3143 Pa/s

W pracy przedstawiono analiz臋 reologiczn膮 osadu z oczyszczalni z okolic Krakowa. Badane osady nale偶膮 do p艂yn贸w nienewtonowskich, lepkoplastycznych, niebinghamowskich, posiadaj膮cych granic臋 p艂yni臋cia. Wielko艣膰 granicy p艂yni臋cia osad贸w ro艣nie wraz ze wzrostem zawarto艣ci zwi膮zk贸w organicznych. Do opisu Teologicznych w艂a艣ciwo艣ci najlepszy okaza艂 si臋 matematyczny model Herschela-Bulkley鈥檃, 艣rednia warto艣膰 wsp贸艂czynnika korelacji wynios艂a 0,993. Sta艂a konsystencji mala艂a ze wzrostem warto艣ci wska藕nika p艂yni臋cia p艂ynu. The paper deals with rheological analysis of sludge from the waste water treatment plant situated near Cracow. Sewage sludge belongs to non-Newtonian, viscoplastic, non-Bingham fluid. The yield point value increases with the concentration of organic compounds in the sludge (expressed as organic dry solids). The Herschel-Bulkley model turned out to be the best to describe Theological properties. The average correlation coefficient was equal to 0.993. The fluid consistency index decreases with the increase of flow behaviour index

Effect of ultrasonic and thermal disintegration of water treatment sludge

    No full text
This research was conducted to evaluate the effects of thermal and ultrasound disintegration on the disintegration degree (DD) of water treatment sludge from a municipal water treatment plant. A disintegration process was used to (i) improve subsequent coagulation efficiencies and dewatering processes (ii) reduce sludge production, and (iii) obtain both economic and enviromental benefits. The results show that using the disintegration process has an influence on DD values. It is also worth emphasising that the main parameter determining the efficiency of ultrasonic and thermal disintegration was the time of the applied process. Other parameters such as ultrasound intensity and temperature had a reduced impact on DD values
