    The chemical investigation of the hexane extract from the roots of <i>Cordia multispicata</i> resulted in the isolation of a new terpenoid 1,4-naphthoquinone, (<i>R</i>)-6-[10-(12,12,16-trimethyl-7-oxabicyclo[2.2.1]hept-2-yl]-2,3-dihydroxy-1,4-naphthalenedione (2,3-dihydroxy-cordiaquinone J), along with the known cordiaquinones B and J. The structure determination of the new compound was performed by spectroscopic methods (<sup>1</sup>H and <sup>13</sup>C NMR, COSY, HSQC and HMBC), FTIR and HRMS, in addition to direct comparison with NMR data of similar compounds previously described in the literature
