Advantages of the diffuser-augmented wind turbine
Performance optimization for a wind turbine is realized by using a shrouded diffuser to produce up to twice the power of unshrouded turbines of the same diameter. The diffuser converts the kinetic energy of the flow downstream of the rotor into a pressure rise and thus makes it possible for the rotor to capture airflow from a free stream tube area that is greater than that from the rotor itself. The flow velocity through the shrouded rotor is 20 to 60 percent greater than the free wind velocity as opposed to 67 percent less for the unshrouded case. The diffuser also makes it possible to accommodate very high wind speeds without the need of variable pitch in the rotor blades

What do gas-rich galaxies actually tell us about modified Newtonian dynamics?
It has recently been claimed that measurements of the baryonic Tully-Fisher
relation (BTFR), a power-law relationship between the observed baryonic masses
and outer rotation velocities of galaxies, support the predictions of modified
Newtonian dynamics for the slope and scatter in the relation, while challenging
the cold dark matter (CDM) paradigm. We investigate these claims, and find
that: 1) the scatter in the data used to determine the BTFR is in conflict with
observational uncertainties on the data; 2) these data do not make strong
distinctions regarding the best-fit BTFR parameters; 3) the literature contains
a wide variety of measurements of the BTFR, many of which are discrepant with
the recent results; and 4) the claimed CDM "prediction" for the BTFR is a gross
oversimplification of the complex galaxy-scale physics involved. We conclude

The diagnosis of PD typically .occurs after the presentation of motor deficits such as resting tremor, rigidity, hypokinesia, or postural instability. 2 Parkinson's disease in isolation results in worsening of motor deficits and progressive functional decline. While these problems are primarily the result of the degenerative process, underlying comorbidities may amplify or contribute to these deficits. In addition, given the typical age of onset, persons with PD will often present with a host of concurrent medical conditions (comorbidities). This is confirmed by research that estimated over 50% of Medicare beneficiaries had multiple comorbidities at the turn of the century.
