We analyze interference effects in photoionization of H+ 2 molecular targets in laser assisted photoionization. By means of a simple model, we obtain observables for the reaction and we compare them with previous results obtained with more elaborated ones. Interestingly, previous interference effects predicted for monochromatic pulses persist in the presence of a laser NIR bath leading to a characteristic photoelectron spectrumFil: Boll, Diego Iván René. Angularly resolved total atomic time delays for the hydrogen atom, initially in the 1s state. Results correspond to RABBITT (reconstruction of attosecond beating by interference of two-photon transitions) sidebands 12 to 26, and different relative polarization angles between the attosecond pump pulse and the infrared probe pulse. This dataset supports the publication "Two-color polarization control on angularly resolved attosecond time delays", Boll et al. 2022.Fil: Boll, Diego Iván René. We present the theoretical and experimental progress in the field of coherent electron emission from simple molecules by the impact of energetic charged particles. In particular, we outline the different theoretical approaches to tackle the single ionization of diatomic molecules by the impact of heavy-ions. Furthermore, a comparison with experimental measurements, where available, is made. Throughout our contribution we emphasize the phenomenology behind these molecular processes and discuss the advantages and drawbacks of the different theoretical approaches.Fil: Rivarola, Roberto Daniel. Ionization induced by protons on isolated molecules of adenine: theory, modelling and experiment

    Get PDF
We here report a comparison between semi-empirical and theoretical predictions in terms of differential and total cross sections for proton-induced ionization of isolated adenine molecules. Whereas the first ones are provided by existing analytical models, the second ones are based on two quantum-mechanical models recently developed within the 1st Born and the continuum distorted wave approximation, respectively. Besides, a large set of experimental data is also reported for comparisons. In all kinematical conditions here investigated, we have observed a very good agreement between theory and experiment whereas strong discrepancieswere reported with the semi-empirical models in particular when doubly-differential cross sections are analysed.Fil: Champion, C.. Interferences in the photoionization of water molecules

    Get PDF
We study theoretically the photoionization of water molecules by monochromatic and linearly polarized radiation. The final state wavefunctions are given by Coulomb continuum wavefunctions and the water molecule bound states are represented using linear combinations of Slater type orbitals located on the centers of the molecule. We obtain total and differential cross sections. We compare them with more elaborated theoretical results and experiments obtaining a very good agreement in particular at enough high energies where there is a lack of predictions. We put in evidence three-center interference effects not only in the total cross sections but also we show that these effects may be detected in a direct way in the angular distributions of photoelectrons corresponding to randomly oriented molecules. In particular, we find that the interference effects under certain conditions may provoke a partial suppression of the emission of photoelectrons in the classical direction given by the polarization vector.Fil: Martini, Lara. Parity mix interferences and pairwise channel cancellation in the attosecond control of electron emission from H2+

We study the single photoionization of simple diatomic molecules such as H2+ by a train of attopulses assisted by a near infrared laser. In particular, we focus on the so called orbital parity mix interferences leading to asymmetrical electron emission. We employ a non-perturbative model obtaining for those asymmetries analytical expressions with a functional form independent of the target structure encoding the interaction of the photoelectron with the laser field to all orders. Related to these interferences, we give conditions at which a pairwise cancellation of channels opened by the laser field occurs. Finally, we exploit the non-perturbative character of our model to analyze the dependence of the asymmetrical electron emission and the angular distribution of photoelectrons with the laser intensity. An asymmetric inhibition of the emission in the classical direction is found.Fil: Boll, Diego Iván René. Consejo Nacional de Investigaciones Científicas y Técnicas. Atomic RABBITT-like experiments framed as diatomic molecules

The single ionization of noble gas atoms by an attosecond pulse train assisted by an infrared laser field is theoretically investigated by means of a non-perturbative model that under certain approximations gives closed-form expressions for the angular distributions of photoelectrons. A very good agreement between our predictions and experiments is observed. Interestingly, our model allow us to interpret these angular distributions as two-center interferences where the separation between centers is governed by the infrared laser field. Finally, we provide a physical interpretation for the analogy of the two-center interferences.Fil: Boll, Diego Iván René. Consejo Nacional de Investigaciones Científicas y Técnicas. Attosecond polarization control in atomic RABBITT-like experiments assisted by a circularly polarized laser

    No full text
We study theoretically the single ionization of noble gas atoms by the combined action of an attosecond pulse train with linear polarization and an assistant laser field with circular polarization. We employ a non-perturbative model that under certain approximations gives closed-form expressions for the angular distributions of photoelectrons. Interestingly, our model allow us to interpret these angular distributions as two-centre interferences where the orientation and the modulus of the separation vector between the virtual emitters is governed by the assistant laser field. Additionally, we show that such a configuration of light fields is similar to the polarization control technique, where both the attosecond pulse train and the assistant laser field have linear polarizations whose relative orientation may be controlled. Moreover, in order to compare our results with the available experimental data, we obtain analytical expressions for the cross sections integrated over the photoelectron emission angles. By means of these expressions, we define the 'magic time' as the delay for which the total cross sections for atomic targets exhibit the same functional form as the one of the monochromatic photoionization of diatomic molecular targets.Fil: Boll, Diego Iván René. Laser-assisted photoionization of diatomic molecules: from atto- to femto-pulses

We study theoretically the laser-assisted photoionization of simple diatomic molecules by short XUV pulses. In addition to the well known interference eects produced by the coherent emission from both molecular centers, we analyze the interferences induced by the presence of the assistant laser eld. Moreover, we examine the transition from a streaking-like conguration (where the XUV pulses have durations of hundreds of attoseconds) to the Free electron laser conguration (in which the XUV pulse duration comprises one or many laser periods).Fil: Boll, Diego Iván René.
