Meson Matrix Elements from Various Heavy Quark Effective Theories
Various properties of heavy-light mesons are determined, including decay
constants, the -parameter, and the Isgur-Wise function. The heavy
(bottom) quark is simulated with the static, NRQCD and/or (fixed-velocity)
lattice-HQET effective theories, using optimally-smeared sources as produced by
the ``Maximal Operator Smearing Technique''.Comment: To appear in the proceedings of the Lattice '95 conference. 4 pages,

Cell Mediated and Humoral Immune responses to Mumps Virus: Recent Developments
Despite the extensive use of Mumps virus vaccines for almost forty years,
there is still a paucity of knowledge concerning the Host-Pathogen Interaction. This
paper reviews the advances in our knowledge of the antiviral immune response with
particular reference to the selection of attenuated mumps virus strains used in
different vaccine formulations. The ability of mumps viruses to evade the interferon
component of the immune response is described in detail. This study also presents
recent findings from our laboratory and others concerning the humoral and cell
mediated responses to mumps virus. Particular attention is placed on mumps virus
induction of interleukin-10 (IL-10) and the potential for this to be a novel immune
evasion strategy is discussed. Finally, recent advances in our understanding of the
immune response to mumps virus are placed in the broader context of our current
understanding of this disease

Heavy Light Weak Matrix Elements
I review the status of lattice calculations of heavy-light weak matrix
elements, concentrating on semileptonic B decays to light mesons, B -> K*
gamma, the B meson decay constant, f_B, and the mixing parameter B_B.Comment: 12 pages, LaTeX2e with 6 postscript figures. Uses espcrc2.sty and

A Study of the Static-Light Parameter
We calculate the parameter, relevant for --
mixing, from a lattice gauge theory simulation using the static approximation
for the heavy quark and the Wilson action for the light quark and gauge fields.
Improved sources, produced by an optimized variational technique, {\sc most},
reduce statistical errors and minimize excited-state contamination of the
ground-state signal. Renormalization of four-fermion operator coefficients,
using the Lepage-Mackenzie procedure for estimating typical momentum scales, is
linearized to reduce order uncertainties.Comment: 4 pages (LaTeX), Talk presented at LATTICE96(heavy quarks), Minor

Semileptonic Form Factors
I report the current status of the heavy-light decay constants, the bag
parameters and the semileptonic form factors. I compare the heavy-light decay
constants with Wilson-Wilson and clover-clover fermions. Systematic errors such
as scale setting and renormalization factors are also discussed. 1/M
dependences for the heavy-light semileptonic form factors near
with clover-clover and NRQCD-Wilson fermions are found to be small.Comment: 12 pgs. 15 figures. Talk presented at LATTICE9
Heavy-Light Meson Decay Constants on the Lattice
We present a high statistics study of the D- and B-meson decay constants. The
results were obtained by using the Clover and Wilson lattice actions at
and 6.2.Comment: 3 pages, 2 ps figures; Talk presented at LATTICE '9
An Analytic Formula and an Upper Bound for epsilon'/epsilon in the Standard Model
Using the idea of the penguin box expansion we find an analytic expression
for epsilon'/epsilon in the Standard Model as a function of m_t, m_s(m_c) and
two non-perturbative parameters B_6 and B_8. This formula includes
next-to-leading QCD/QED short distance effects calculated recently by means of
the operator product expansion and renormalization group techniques. We also
derive an analytic expression for the upper bound on epsilon'/epsilon as a
function of |V_cb|, |V_ub/V_cb|, B_K and other relevant parameters. Numerical
examples of the bound are given.Comment: 10 pages with 1 figure appended in PostScript format; MPI preprint

Heavy quark mass dependence of semileptonic form factors for B decays
We present our study of the dependence of the heavy-to-light semileptonic B
decay form factors on the heavy-light meson mass . Simulations are made
over a range of the heavy quark mass covering both the charm and bottom quarks
using the -improved clover action at on a and
lattice. We find that a weak dependence of form factors on
observed in previous studies in the region of charm quark persists up
to the region of quark. The soft pion relation is
examined and found to be largely violated.Comment: 3 pages, latex source-file, 4 figures as epsf-file, uses espcrc2.sty.
