UMA PESQUISA SOBRE AS PERCEPÇÕES DOS ESTUDANTES DE LICENCIATURA EM CIÊNCIAS BIOLÓGICAS EAD A RESPEITO DO USO DE ANIMAIS DE LABORATÓRIO NAS PESQUISAS CIENTÍFICAS

Historically animals are used for many practices in favor of benefits for the human population and advances in the veterinary area, such as the search for a cure for diseases, development of vaccines and new drugs. Despite their use demonstrating clear importance for the advances of science, there are still controversies in society's opinions regarding the practices that involve them. This study originated from the need to identify the perceptions of undergraduate students in Biological Sciences EAD linked to the CEDERJ consortium regarding the legal and ethical aspects of the use of laboratory animals in scientific research in order to outline a pedagogical strategy to guide future teachers in their teaching practices. A questionnaire created in the Google Forms tool was applied. Through e-mail, using the CEDERJ Platform, and social networks such as Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp, the disclosure to the target audience of the research was carried out. Students were asked if they were in favor of using animals in research; if they had contact with bioethics issues during graduation and if they had knowledge about the regulatory legislation for the use of these biomodels. After analyzing the data obtained from 109 students, it was observed that most of the participants did not have a formed opinion about the use of biomodels in research. Regarding knowledge about “bioethics”, most students expressed knowledge, on the other hand, about the topic “legislation”, most showed no knowledge about it. In this way, the research can demonstrate the need for greater debate on the subject in the training processes of these students, so that their conceptions and perceptions are built in a critical and grounded way and that they can be reflected in their future teaching actions.   Keywords: Bioethics. Didactic tools.  Historicamente os animais são utilizados para diversas práticas em prol de benefícios para a população humana e de avanços na área veterinária, como a busca para cura de doenças, desenvolvimentos de vacinas e novos fármacos. Apesar de o seu uso demonstrar nítida importância para os avanços da ciência, ainda há controvérsias nas opiniões da sociedade quanto às práticas que os envolvem. Este estudo originou-se através da necessidade de identificar as percepções dos estudantes de licenciatura em Ciências Biológicas EAD, vinculados ao consórcio CEDERJ, a respeito dos aspectos legais e éticos do uso de animais de laboratório em pesquisas científicas, em busca de traçar uma estratégia pedagógica para nortear os futuros professores em suas práticas docentes. Foi realizada a aplicação de um questionário criado na ferramenta Google Forms. Através do correio eletrônico, utilizando a Plataforma CEDERJ, e das redes sociais como Facebook, Instagram e WhatsApp foi realizada a divulgação para o público-alvo da pesquisa. Os estudantes foram questionados se eram a favor do uso dos animais em pesquisa; se tiveram contato com questões de bioética ao longo da graduação e se tinham conhecimento a respeito da legislação regulamentadora ao uso desses biomodelos. Após a análise dos dados obtidos de 109 estudantes, observou-se que a maioria dos participantes não possuía opinião formada a respeito do uso de biomodelos em pesquisas. Sobre os conhecimentos sobre “bioética”, a maioria dos estudantes expressou ter ciência, em contrapartida, sobre o tópico “legislação” a maioria demonstrou não possuir conhecimentos a respeito. Desta forma, a pesquisa pode demonstrar a necessidade de maior debate da temática nos processos formativos destes estudantes, de modo que suas concepções e percepções sejam construídas de forma crítica e embasada e que possam ser refletidas em suas futuras ações docentes
