Polarímetro para observaciones en el continuo en 1435 Mhz con la antena Nº 2 del IAR

We are engaged, at the IAR, in a survey of the continuum at 1435 MHz in the southern hemisphere. We put a polarimeter to measure simultaneously the four Stokes parameters. It is based in a receptor which decomposed the incident radiation into polarization components (circular, left and right). The energy detection in each chanel plus the sine and cosine products give the output. The four singles are demodulated and processed using a Commodore 64 computer and an IBM respectively. Digital spectrometer for the line receptor at the Argentine Institute of Radioastronomy

Since long ago it is known that the introduction of digital techniques in the acquisition of radioastronomical data is very useful. Here we described the main characteristics of an autocorrelator of 1008 channels which will be in operation at the IAR very soon.
