Electromagnetic Structure of the Pion

In this work, we analyze the electromagnetic structure of the pion. We calculate its electromagnetic radius and electromagnetic form factor in low and intermediate momentum range. Such observables are determined by means of a theoretical model that takes into account the constituent quark and antiquark of the pion within the formalism of light-front field theory. In particular, we consider a nonsymmetrical vertex in this model, with which we calculate the electromagnetic form factor of the pion in an optimized way, so that we obtain a value closer to the experimental charge radius of the pion. The theoretical calculations are also compared with the most recent experimental data involving the pion electromagnetic form factor and the results show very good agreement.Comment: Paper with 4 pages, 1 figure, presented in XII HADRON PHYSICS Conference - to appear in AIP Conference Proceeding

Scalar and Spinor Particles in the Spacetime of a Domain Wall in String Theory

We consider scalar and spinor particles in the spacetime of a domain wall in the context of low energy effective string theories, such as the generalized scalar-tensor gravity theories. This class of theories allows for an arbitrary coupling of the wall and the (gravitational) scalar field. First, we derive the metric of a wall in the weak-field approximation and we show that it depends on the wall's surface energy density and on two post-Newtonian parameters. Then, we solve the Klein-Gordon and the Dirac equations in this spacetime. We obtain the spectrum of energy eigenvalues and the current density in the scalar and spinor cases, respectively. We show that these quantities, except in the case of the energy spectrum for a massless spinor particle, depend on the parameters that characterize the scalar-tensor domain wall.Comment: LATEX file, 21 pages, revised version to appear in Phys. The Electromagnetic Form Factor of the Kaon in the Light-Front Approach

The kaon electromagnetic form factor is calculated within a light-front constituent quark model (LFCQM). The electromagnetic components of the current are extracted from the Feynman triangle diagram within the light-front approach. We also obtain the electroweak decay constant and the charge radius for the kaon in the light-front approach. In this work, the kaon observables are calculated and a fairly good agreement is obtained with a very higher accuracy when compared with the experimental data.Comment: Paper with 4 pages, 1 figure, reference: XII HADRON PHYSICS Conference - to appear in AIP Conference Proceeding

Uso de animais na avaliação de forrageiras.

A avaliação de forrageiras com animais sob sistema de pastejo se constitui em uma área de extrema importância para a bovinocultura de corte em todo o mundo, e em especial nos paises tropicais e subtropicais como o Brasil, que tem como característica e como vantagem econômica a produção de carne bovina fundamentada em pastagens. No entanto, para que os resultados deste tipo de avaliação sejam de utilidade pratica e se transformem em incrementos de produtividade e de eficiência bioeconômica do sistema de produção, faz-se necessário que esta seja conduzida,considerando-se a existência de dois sistemas bem definidos, quais sejam, pastagem e animal. E importante ainda, alem do entendimento dos inter-relacionamentos destes dois sistemas, conhecer as relações em um ambiente mais amplo que envolve o complexo solo-planta-animal. Neste contexto, o trabalho procura discutir não só os sistemas isoladamente, mas também procura evidenciar as áreas de inter-relacionamentos e as medidas necessárias para se atingir o resultado desejado, ou seja, uma avaliação aplicável ao setor produtivo que resulte em produções bioeconomicamente viáveis em sistemas de produção sustentáveis.bitstream/item/104738/1/Uso-de-animais-na-avaliacao.pd
