EL CLIMA DE LA SIERRA DE CARTAGENA (SE. DE ESPAÑA):VARIACIONES ESPACIO-TEMPORALES A DIFERENTES ESCALAS

In this article, both the spatial variation and the temporal fluctuation in the climate of the Sierra de Cartagena (SE Spain) are analyzed at different scales. The time interval studied includes the years 1946-1992. The results showed a gradient of precipitation and temperature along the mountain range of Cartagena. They also revealed an alternation between moist and dry periods both at seasonal and larger time scales (along cycles of about 20 years), in spite of the marked temporal fluctuation in rainfall. With regard to temperature, the data set analyzed in this study does not enable us to say that a climatic change towards warmer conditions is occurring.Se analizan las variaciones espaciales y las fluctuaciones temporales del clima de la sierra de Cartagena (SE de España) a diferentes escalas. El intervalo de tiempo estudiado comprende los años 1946-1992. Los resultados obtenidos mostraron la existencia de un gradiente de precipitación y temperatura a lo largo de la cadena montañosa de Cartagena. También pusieron de manifiesto la alternancia de períodos más húmedos y períodos más secos tanto a nivel estacional como a escalas temporales de mayor amplitud (a lo largo de ciclos de unos 20 años aproximadamente), a pesar de las acusadas fluctuaciones temporales en la distribución de las lluvias.
