Two sediment cores taken from lakes BK1 and BK2 in Beak Island (Trinity Peninsula,
Antarctic Peninsula) were analysed. The cores were divided in two sections (lacustrine
and marine). Changes in cyanobacterial diversity occurring within the lacustrine section,
