Irreducible MultiQutrit Correlations in Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger Type States

Following the idea of the continuity approach in [D. L. Zhou, Phys. Rev. Lett. 101, 180505 (2008)], we obtain the degrees of irreducible multi-party correlations in two families of nn-qutrit Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger type states. For the pure states in one of the families, the irreducible 2-party, nn-party and (nm)(n-m)-party (0<m<n20< m < n-2) correlations are nonzero, which is different from the nn-qubit case. We also derive the correlation distributions in the nn-qutrit maximal slice state, which can be uniquely determined by its (n1)(n-1)-qutrit reduced density matrices among pure states. It is proved that there is no irreducible nn-qutrit correlation in the maximal slice state. This enlightens us to give a discussion about how to characterize the pure states with irreducible nn-party correlation in arbitrarily high-dimensional systems by the way of the continuity approach.Comment: 5p, no fi

    Ethyl 3-[2-(p-tolylcarbamothioyl)hydrazinylidene]butanoate

The title compound, C14H19N3O2S, was obtained from a condensation reaction of N-(p-tolyl)hydrazinecarbothioamide and ethyl acetoacetate. The molecule assumes an E configuration; the thiosemicarbazide and ester groups are located on the opposite sides of the C=N bond. The almost planar thiosemicarbazide unit (r.m.s. deviation = 0.0130 Å) is tilted at a dihedral angle of 49.54 (12)° with respect to the benzene ring. Intermolecular N—H⋯N and N—H⋯S hydrogen bonding stabilizes the crystal structure. The ethoxy group of the ester unit is disordered over two positions, with a site-occupancy ratio of 0.680 (10):0.320 (10)

In the title centrosymmetric tetranuclear complex, [Mn4(C12H6O4)4(C10H8N2)4(H2O)8]·4H2O, two independent MnII ions are coordinated in a slightly disorted octahedral environment by two aqua ligands, two naphthalene-1,8-dicarboxylate (1,8-nap) ligands and one bis-chelating 2,2′-bipyridine (2,2′-bipy) ligand. In the crystal, molecules are linked by intermolecular O—H⋯O hydrogen bonds into chains along [100]. These chains are further linked by weak π–π interactions with centroid–centroid distances in the range of 3.609 (2)–3.758 (1) Å, forming a three-dimensional supramolecular network

In the title compound, C15H15N3S, the almost planar 2-benzylidenehydrazinecarbothioamide unit (r.m.s. deviation = 0.0351 Å) is aligned at a dihedral angle of 64.42 (6)° with respect to the plane of the tolyl ring. The molecule exhibits an E configuration for the azomethine linkage. In the crystal, intermolecular N—H⋯S hydrogen bonds about centers of inversion lead to the formation of dimers

There are two independent molecules in the asymmetric unit of the title compound, C13H13N3OS, which was obtained from a condensation reaction of N-(p-tolyl)hydrazinecarbothioamide and furfural. The dihedral angles between the mean planes of the tolyl ring and the (furan-2-ylmethylene)hydrazine unit are 39.83 (8) and 48.95 (7)° in the two molecules. The molecules both exhibit an E configuration. In the crystal, intermolecular N—H⋯N and N—H⋯S hydrogen bonds connect the two independent molecules

High-Q exterior whispering gallery modes in a metal-coated microresonator

We propose a kind of plasmonic whispering gallery modes highly localized on the exterior surface of a metal-coated microresonator. This exterior (EX) surface mode possesses high quality factors at room temperature, and can be efficiently excited by a tapered fiber. The EX mode can couple to an interior (IN) mode and this coupling produces a strong anti-crossing behavior, which not only allows conversion of IN to EX modes, but also forms a long-lived anti-symmetric mode. As a potential application, the EX mode could be used for a biosensor with a sensitivity high up to 500 nm per refraction index unit, a large figure of merit, and a wide detection range

Movable Fiber-Integrated Hybrid Plasmonic Waveguide on Metal Film

A waveguide structure consisting of a tapered nanofiber on a metal film is proposed and analyzed to support highly localized hybrid plasmonic modes. The hybrid plasmonic mode can be efficiently excited through the in-line tapered fiber based on adiabatic conversion and collected by the same fiber, which is very convenient in the experiment. Due to the ultrasmall mode area of plasmonic mode, the local electromagnetic field is greatly enhanced in this movable waveguide, which is potential for enhanced coherence light emitter interactions, such as waveguide quantum electrodynamics, single emitter spectrum and nonlinear optics

Cloning and characterization of functional keratinassociated protein 5-4 gene in maize

Keratin-associated proteins (KAPs) 5-4 which belongs to keratin-associated protein (KRTAP) type 5 family has two major groups: high/ultrahigh cysteine (HS) and high glycine-tyrosine (HGT). Based on bioinformatic prediction, we experimentally cloned a fragment containingan open reading frame of 1849 bp from maize, which encodes a protein of 408 amino acids. BLAST analysis indicated that KAP5-4 is homologous to the qPE9-1 protein in rice. Conserved domains analysis predicted the presence of five domains. Real time reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) indicated that the expression of this gene is up-regulated in response to water-deficit stress in the root and leaf. Keywords: Maize, keratin-associated protein 5-4, water-deficit stress.African Journal of Biotechnology Vol. 11(29), pp. 7417-7423, 10 April, 201

Further improvement of N6 medium for callus induction and plant regeneration from maize immature embryos

    Get PDF
To explore the possibility to improve N6 medium for callus induction and plant regeneration from maize immature embryos, comparative experiments were conducted to screen the optimal calcium concentration for the callus induction medium and the subculture medium modified from N6 medium and to examine the effects of uniconazole and ABT root promoting powder supplement on plant regeneration and root generation. According to the results, the calcium concentration of N6 medium was increased from 1.13 to 5 mmol/l for callus induction and subculture. Uniconazole from 0.25 and 0.5 mg/l and ABT root promoting powder of 0.5 mg/l were suggested to be supplemented to the regeneration medium and the root generation, separately. On these improved media, the frequency of callus induction, the relative proliferation rate of callus subculture, the regeneration rate and the average root biomass of the regenerated plantlets increased significantly. All these improvements facilitate the establishment of acceptor system from elite parental inbred lines of commercial hybrids and provide a solid basis for transgenic manipulation of maize. Keywords: ABT root-promoting powder, calcium, callus induction, immature embryo, maize, N6 medium, plant regeneration, uniconazol
